Ran across this on ConcealCarry. Org. Wondering if any Ill. members have checked  it  out?

Makes sense.  Should pass legal muster, if the courts are honest.  When I visited Chicago in July I carried my unloaded gun, with a loaded right next to it, in the CZ case in came in.  I used that same case, with a padlock, to check the gun onto the planes I flew to and from CHI.

Unfortunately, this is a bit too open to interpretation.  Have considered it and I do have a "Fanny Pack" for such use, but I don't use it much.  The local State Prosecuter has a reputation of being anti-gun.

Should pass legal muster, if the courts are honest.

A lot of times they are not.

I know.  It's why I qualified my statement.  We are no longer a nation of laws or logic.

I like the part "you will be six seconds away from safety". Whoa, don't pull that trigger I'm not loaded yet!! Wonder what beancounter came up with that statement.

Seeing that the article is 3 yrs old (I thought I'd seen this before), and the statute has not yet been tested...I'd hate to be the first, especially in Chicago!

I suspect legally you could pull it off but... a case, inside a purse, with an unloaded gun?  It almost defeats the point.
