Wish to purchase full length guide rod and spring combo from the gentleman mentioned on this site, he offers both together, question which spring strength do i want? thanks

Yeah -- unless you're shooting a lot of hot loads.

When the recoil spring gets that heavy, you run the risk of breaking slide stops (as the slide returns REALLY fast and hard), and mag springs may have to be beefed up, too, to advance the next round rapidly...

Keep with the factory rating at first (although a Wolff spring sold as "factory" weight will be stronger than a factory spring.)

Have a second one that's a little heavier, and experiment to see which you like best.  (It can always be a backup, when the first one eventually wears out... may take a long while, though.)

Lots of folks get heavier springs to protect the gun, but may, in fact, be increasing the likelihood of damage if they go too far.  (I don't remember when I last heard of a frame damaged by excessive recoil...  I have heard of a few broken slide stops.)
