Been eyeing these Policie ?esk? Republiky grips by Klinsky for a number of years. Finally got them installed on a 99021. They are quite thick. Will see how they feel on the range soon.

I bought my P01 on September 11 2010, the same say that my grandson was born. I have over 1000 rounds thru it and am fighting not shooting it more. They are far from thin for sure, but they felt very good on the target range on my first time out with them on the 99021. Will try them on the decocker steel frame next. It?s possible the thick shelf that the shooting finger (RH) rests on helps steady/guide a straight trigger pull?Yes, I've found that to be true for me. I have them on my decocker steel frame. Everyone who shoots it wants that gun because of how it shoots. Part of it is attributed to these fat grips.

Thank you. Believe it or not, that's my factory barrel. My P-01 came with a silver/bare steel color. It has about 5k rounds through it by now so maybe it just looks polished.

I highly recommend LOK G10 grips. They are thinner, run about $60 and come with rubber screw grommets. I put them on my CZ, they are awesome.Yep those are the ones! Just need to decide on a color.

I suspect the new P01 will become my EDC for road trips when my wife goes with me and for around the property when doing yard work, walking the dogs, working in/around the garage, etc. The CZ 85 Compact/clone needs the trigger guard rounded off and then sent off to be refinished with a more durable coating than the polycoat. I've touched it up with Brownells Oxpho Blue and couple of times and those spots just wear shiny again in a few days.

It was a very nice gun, but I found the steel-framed CZs so close to the full-size CZs (in weight) that I eventually traded it away (for a 97B)! It was a gorgeous gun and I keep photos of it because of it's great looks.

The problem with the satin nickel Compact was that she shot my new Compact one day and it shot better groups than the pretty/fancy Compact and she stopped shooting the pretty gun.
Those satin nickel Compacts are sharp looking little guns.

Also found a nice rarity for me. Outstanding condition and the price was very, very right. I have really come to like the 40 S&W round. It's a pounder for sure. The trigger is very heavy but smooth, expecting/hoping the CGW trigger options fit this one and I'll do a black 85 trigger, RRK, and SRS here too. Not sure I'm sold on the grips, I'm looking for options. I think I want some palmswells.

One quick email to a lady named Esmerelda, she hooked me up with some fantastic cocobolo grips.

Man that's a beautiful CZ!! I hate to ask, but could you post more pictures of the frame? Did you have any pinholes or imperfections that carried through the casting into the hard chrome?
I only have a couple other pics handy on my phone, i had a couple pin head six imperfections that came through. They are very small and you?d really have to be looking for them. I have a pre b that came out of hard chrome with no imperfections.

CZ ought to bring back the 40B in a 9mm version (9B?) as I suspect they'd sell quite a few of them.
Back in the day, at least one barrel maker (Bar-Sto) offered a 9mm barrel for the 40B, but there weren't a lot of 40Bs (or CZs, for that matter) being sold at that time, which mean there was an even smaller market for conversion barrels. I traded my 40B away, an action I have long regretted. (It took me a while to get comfortable with .40 S&W guns. (I now like them...)
A lot of us liked the 40B's 1911-like grip style. I would love a Colt 40Z (but for it's rumored glass-smooth DAO trigger, not for the Colt name.) I think there were a few DA/SA Z-40s, too.

Maybe you meant "some leftover slides from the CZ-40 and later 40B model runs."?I am far from an expert but my understanding is that any of the slides with the cut/grove in the slide had the Colt markings ground off, and the ones with the smooth slides were the later ones made/finished after the deal fell through. My flat sided 40B is a fair bit higher serial number than my groove cut 40B.
I do agree that it is one of my favorite 40's of all that I have ever had. It feels very good in the hand and the 40 does not seem to be as snappy in it as in some other compact guns I have shoot, 229 and G23 for example.

The 40P pictured appears to have it's roll marks in the same areas that the Z-40s were rollmarked, and that area was apparently pretty thick.
This following is the best picture of a Z-40 I could find and rollmarks in that area a made in an area of the slide that is the same height/thickness as the cocking serrations. That same area of the slide on your 40P seems to be has high as the serrations at the rear of the slide -- which suggests that the rollmark area probably wasn't ground down on the 40P. The front of the 40P slide seems thinner.

I had to copy the second image and put it in a photo editor to see what you were describing. That slide looks as though NO material was removed -- as the cocking serrations look unchanged, as do the depths of slide openings where pins are put in the slide. (If a complete layer of material was removed and the cocking serrations re-cut, the pins would have be be different (shorter) as well. If the other side was matched, the slide would be noticeably slimmer than other 40B slides.)
What does the other side of the slide look like on the the modified 40B slide, and the 40P slide? Did they cut the first slide to have a similar shape? (I think you said they matched both sides -- but mentioned FRAME, not SLIDE.) How about the 40P slide's opposite side?
The 40P looks as though it's a different animal altogether, with part of slide machined away in an area at the front of the slide where no material needed to be removed.
Perhaps CZ rejuvenated SOME slides (i.e., Z-40 and 40B) and maybe some additional ones were made, too -- for some additional 40Bs and for the 40P, and those additional ones were just roll-marked.

I agree that the first slide you show, above, does look as though a Colt roll-mark was machined off.If I understand, I don't think we are disagreeing, just kind of saying the same things differently. My point originally was just that the guns with the notch, which is only on the left side of the gun, and seems to be only on the early ones, was from having old markings machined off and the new CZ model designations put on. All of the guns are completely flat on the right side of the slide, and the slides are interchangeable and the same dimensions in all three guns except for the notch cut.

I have/had 3 40B's and 1 40P, so while I have a pretty small sample size considering that there are not a lot of them bumping around I am not sure where to find more for more detailed comparison.

All 99021s are good looking pistols but ejb1975's hard chrome 99021 is one of the best looking 75 Compacts I have ever seen. WOW!

I’ve got the full golf ball style (lower left) and they are pretty aggressive. This is a nice design compromise. Wish they had them when I was shopping. Just got this yesterday.
I took this new P01 to the range yesterday for the first time, and shot 250 rounds in it. At 64 years old with bad eyes, I am amazed at how well I shot it. I can not believe I have not gotten this earlier.

Do you have 100% co-witness with the factory iron sights?
Who milled the slide? do you know how deep ?
I have a SMSc on my hellcat and like that it sits low and can 100% co-witness the stock irons.
I would love to have the same set up on my CZ RAMI or soon to be P-01
^^Nice looking set up. It is pretty cool that the optic allows you to preserve the rear sight.

It started with this one. It had some Cajun springs in it. I did a full on polish of everything that moved. For looks, I polished the trigger and barrel as well. I added a stainless guide rod and the upgraded pins from Cajun.
