Title: Maybe not the dumbest question I have been asked but
Post by: recoilguy on April 12, 2012, 05:18:43 PM
I went into a gun store in the town next to the one i live in. I asked if the had any holsters for the CZ SP-01......the guy behind the counter, must be a new guy because I am there about once a month says "no sir but I can order one for you to be in a couple weeks."

I say ok so he clicks on the computer and asks

" What kind of pistol was that again"
I say "CZ SP-01"
to which he says
"Can you spell that for me please?"

At least he was polite.....
I told him I think I will look somewhere else.

True story.

My high school government teacher, whenever a student would ask how to spell a word, would always end the spelling with "...I-D-I-O-T." Looking back, I guess that was kind of harsh. I was good at spelling, so it didn't bother me at the time.

Ah, I remember the day...

One of the guys in high school sort of matured ahead of the curve, great big kid, about 6'3" and around 190-200. That is, physically. He was not exactly a Rhodes Scholar. We had one history teacher who was famous for his cruel sarcasm, just no excuse for being that nasty when kids are there to learn. So one day the big kid asked a reasonable question and the history teacher was mecilessly insulting, really put him down beyond measure in front of the whole classroom.

The kid slowly stood up, walked up front sort of with his head down, sheepish and embarassed looking, and came up out of the south with a howitzer round of a fist and COLD-COCKED THE TEECH FLAT ON THE FLOOR HAAAH!

Out like a light. He was the school hero that day until he was kicked out, had to attend the other high school in town. He always swore it was worth it....

My wife used to manage a department that had a lot of guys from India.  She used to tell me how many of their names where about a mile long with letters that didn't get pronounced.  One day one of them called when she wasn't home.  I made the note he asked me to give her and then asked if he would spell his name.  He said "R"       "E"          "L"   which turned out to be the name he used rather than the 13 letter first name but still kind of embarrassed me thinking Ariel (in drawn out India accent) to be some long name.
