Peculiar FTF Problem, Anyone Else Have This??
« on: May 22, 2015, 10:54:01 PM »
Last week I started to have some failure to feed problems with my P-09.  The mis-fed round was tipped up at a steep angle like the slide didn't catch the back of the cartridge.   It's probably at about 500 rounds now.

I think I finally traced it down to the mags.  Each one had a ridge cut into the plastic follower at what would be the front of the shell casing.  I carefully removed the ridge with a razor knife and no problems since.  We went to a range today and shot plate racks for a couple of hours.  I shot about four boxes of Perfecta and not a hiccup.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I had several FTF's with Perfecta .40 S&W in my P-09. It appeared that the case lip (where it meets the bullet) was thicker, or at least stood out more, than the other ammo that I was using. I will take a look at my mags now.  Thanks for the heads up.

Any chance you post a picture or 2 to show exactly what you did?
