I just picked up my new carbine and have a couple of questions.
First, on the pin side of the lower receiver (the front) there is about a 1/16th of an inch vertical play between the lower and upper receiver. Is this normal?
Second, right side safety deletes are OOS at the moment. Can the right side safety be simply remove temporarily until the deletes are back in stock? Or does the knob actually hold the safety in place?
-
- IMHO not "normal" but not unheard of. Mine is tight, but I've heard of some with wiggle, yet no issues with the gun.
- No, the right side is actually the side you remove to remove the whole safety.
-
The play is normal, don't worry about it.
Deletes should be available next week perhaps.

If the safety is interfering with your range time you could always dremel off the tab. It's to not difficult to get it done and have it look decent while being functional

Here are photos of the gap. That is a dime in the gap. It wouldn't bother me as much if I couldn't feel it moving when I shoulder it. It seems extreme to me. Should I try and have this addressed? Will CZ even consider addressing this?

It's normal, every EVO has it to some some extent.

You can make your right side safety a delete with a dremel, and just cut it down, but I find the HBI AK safety is a much better option, as when safe it sticks down and interferes with the trigger guard, making it less likely you stick your finger in there when you shouldnt

I think it?s a problem unique to the newest generation, I?ve got a ?gen 2? pistol and it has no play whatsoever, buddy has a ?gen 3? and it has a bit of play, I noticed that the replacement trigger packs that CZ sent for the welded trigger pack debacle have the play as well.
