So just found a new 97b. Question is whether to go w pro package and keep it sa/da or go all sa. I'll use it for fun in steel and limited 10.
On the other hand, if I keep it sa/da I can use it for production when I want a change from 9mm.
All thoughts welcome. (FYI I have a 75b in .40 I converted to sa and its pretty amazing. so I'm tempted.)

I never quite understood why someone would buy a DA/SA and then convert it to SAO, lots of SA's out there, why not start there if that's what you want? I mean, if you want a SA, just go 1911 ;). That said, I installed a CGW Pro Package in my BD, trigger is phenomenal, 3.5# SA and under 7.5# DA, short reset, no creep and almost no over travel, just an amazing change from stock, and stock wasn't bad. Later.

Leave it SA/DA. You could still shoot it in steel and Lim 10. Just with the hammer back and safety on. I'd go for a wider safety than stock. I plan to run mine in Production with some 230gr round nose that I'm going to get to about 135PF.

Some reasons one would convert their 97B to SA only instead of purchasing a 1911:
1. Initial purchase price of the CZ 97B is quite likely lower than a 1911 of comparable quality
2. A preference for the ergonomics of the CZ over the 1911
3. Increased magazine capacity of the CZ over a 1911
4. With no add-on magazine wells, the CZ is easier/faster to perform a magazine change with
I own CZ pistols

I own1911 pistols
- Ed Brown Special Forces model in .45 ACP
- Wilson Combat Protector model in 9 mm
- Colt Government model built by TK Custom in .45 ACP
- Colt OACP model built by Wardell Precision in .45 ACP
- Dan Wesson Guardian model in .45 ACP
- Dan Wesson Valkyrie model in 9 mm
I own "1911-like" pistols
- STI 2011 Eagle 5.0 in 9 mm
- Springfield Armory EMP 3" in 9 mm
I'm quite happy with my decision to convert the CZ 97B to SA only. It improved the quality of the trigger pull, but it still had a perfectly adequate quality of trigger when it was SA/DA.
You will have to make the decision on which version best fits your needs. The SA/DA certainly provides a bit of versatility. Also, if the pistol is converted to SA only, it can be easily changed back to SA/DA . . . . just hang on to your original parts.

I've owned my 97B for 17 years. I've resprung it, but I haven't found the need to do a gosh-darn thing otherwise. Just shoot it for a few months. This is a very good stock pistol.
