Scorpion EVO on it's way and I need a brace, best place and price to get one? Thanks
-
Don?t have brace, but I have a ?tube + blade? that I will let go. You will still need an adaptor to accept the tube...
PM me in case you are interested.

fixed, folding or collapsible?
How much ya wanna spend?
I went cheap on mine, buffer tube adaptor & KAK Shockwave. Back then there weren't as many neat options. Fairly light & while not adjustable on the fly, it's adjustable for LOP. Can't remember what I paid for the adaptor but the Shockwave tube & blade is usually $60-$70. Using a buffer tube isn't the slickest looking setup but allows for the most options in braces.
I've always liked the SBTEVO, looks good, folder, and SB braces are comfortable.
And while not the cheapest, the factory folder with a Tailhook mod 1 is one of my favorite looking setups.
I got mixed feeling on the collapsible ones. I've had an MP5-22 rimfire for years and while the collapsible stock looks cool, not very comfortable. Like an AK underfolder. Not as big an issue if you're mounting optics high and using a chin weld but not as much fun getting down to a cheek weld for irons.

Dan Haga designs. Unfortunately the price after everything is closing in 420-500 just for this brace set up.

If it helps, that is an amazing looking Scorpion.

Agreed. But I ended up picking up a second scorpion for just a couple hundred more that was brace equipped 8)

Picked up a new in the box SBTEVO from a guy on one of my other gun boards for $115.00 shipped. Thanks to all.

That's a pretty hefty price for a brace, but it is undoubtedly the nicest looking brace I've ever seen on a Scorpion. It reminds me of the FN SCAR with the adjustable cheek piece. Very good looking and unique too, I may have to give this one some serious thought.
Congratulations on a beautiful Scorpion.

I wish that was mine. That's taken off Dan's website. I gave it serious thought too but picked up a 2nd scorpion. I may still do it if I have the patience to wait for sales, etc.

That brace is awesome! I'm sure a few of us on this forum could make one for less than $400....

If you find a way please let me know. :)

Mr Haga, it's a pleasure. That is a beautiful stock. I've done small runs of injection molding, so it would be fun to try to replicate the tailhook adapter for the ACR stock. After pricing everything individually though, your pricing is right on for the work and parts involved.
-
I'd go with the Dan Haga setup. Buy once cry once. As long as you plan on keeping the gun it will be worth it in the long run.

I have the SB Tactical collapsing brace which is great for compactness but not that comfortable for cheek resting. The original SBTEVO Brace is larger and better for cheek resting but makes the gun wider when it collapses to the right side of the pistol. SBT says this brace is not meant for the pistol to shoot when folder to the side (ejction port) but people report that it can shoot with the brace folded to the side. Pros and cons of each are equal IMHO. For me the compactness was more important than a cheek weld.

I have the SB Tactical brace and feel the lower back/top is better for my fat cheeks. It sits lower than the rail and am comfortable looking through the factory sights and low red dot.

Gear Head Works Tailhook MOD 1 is what I have and I love it, it is the same as the folding stock, but not...

I am going to look for the tailhook after trying several at the stores.

For any of those interested, I have put over 1500 rounds on the new Evo with the collapsible brace and so far I find it very comfortable to shoot... no issues. I thought I would have issues with the bars of the brace being so side but not an issue at all.
That being said, I have never shot one with a folding brace nor full stock so I don't have that to compare to.

Hi - Can you list the Dan Haga parts you order for this brace on your CZ Scorpion? Love it, want it. The Haga Defense site listed the brace for a Bren but didn't see one for the Scorpion. Thanks!!

I have the SB tactical on mine. I like how it looks and is comfortable shooting. I haven't tried to shoot the Scorpion with it folded though.
