Title: Help with Serial Numbers CZ24
Post by: WSSW on February 19, 2019, 04:18:13 PM
Hello,

I recently inherited a CZ24 and noticed the frame and slide have different serial numbers (I think).  Never had a CZ before, so new to the brand.  Doing some research I noticed there are different numbers on the frame and slide.  Can anyone confirm this?  Also, is there a list anywhere that shows the dates associated with serial numbers?  I am guessing the grip is not original, since it has "jewels" embedded. Ha!

Thanks in advance,

The 28 stamped on the frame is the year.

I'm not aware of the frame and slide having different serial numbers. I think your slide was replace at the armory, and re-serialized to the pistol. The first 3 numbers on the slide match the last 3 on the frame.

the grip probably was the original before it was later "modified"  :o

Thanks Eastman.  You might be right about that grip.
