Have a chance to buy what I believe is a Pre 88 TZ 75. FIE is the importer w s/n of H044xx. Slide mounted decocker. In very good condition for $250 including tax/tag/title. :) Is this a good price these days? Am I right on it being a Pre 88? Anyone know if this serial range is past the point where there were metallurgy problems? Poking around the internet for a quick education since I don't think this will be available long. Any help appreciated. Wanna make sure my CZ s and Tristar/Caniks will play nice with a new "cousin".

They are fun guns and at $250 you're not getting hurt. The de-coker sometimes goes out on these guns, so use that gently. There aren't very many spare parts so if it goes down it may stay down. A poly frame Sarsilmaz B6p costs the same and is easier to find parts for, so offer $200-$225 and you might really get a deal. Keep us posted.

I think it's reasonable.

The Serial Number given would seem to be that of a post Series 88 Pistol. Would need a pic to really know which version we are considering here.
IF this was actually an AH, not H, serial Number, it was made around 1981, and should look something like the Pistol below.

ALL pre-88's were a bit on the softer side of metallurgy. You can still shoot them, but nix on any +P ammunition.

Very sound advice and a sweet deal! I love my SAR B6P and K2P! :)

Thanks for the advice! Will try and beat the price down a bit. Pistol has a nice old bluing on it and a very sweet trigger. Just seemed like a nice piece. As to the SARS, I love my K2 45 but am still digging in my heels on going polymer. To misquote the Beatles, 'Happiness is a cold steel gun'. :P

UPDATE: Talked the price down to $225 out the door. Date code is AN which is 1985 I believe. Anyone know if any CZ, Witness, Canik, recoil springs and firing pin springs etc will work for this pistol? Figure all springs are due a change after 34 years. Doesn't appear to have ever been completely disassembled. Will post pictures once I break it all down and clean it. Used but not abused w a very nice trigger! No buyers remorse at all! :)

Finally cleaned up. Kinda funny last owner stuck some old CZ grips on it.
