Title: Lasermax laser
Post by: Explosive on March 14, 2019, 08:26:47 AM
I recently bought a Lasermax guide rod laser for my police trade in Beretta 92 pistol. It's neat as can be but the performance in bright light is very disappointing... I even laid out the extra $ to get a green one which is supposed to be much better than the red.  It's great for twilight shooting and home defense but not a lot else.  I would think the red ones are next to useless unless in very poor light.

Yeah, I played with a couple of different laser's and your right  its difficult to see in daylight. Lots of fun at the indoor range. I ended up with Red-Dots much better in daylight use, but they can be fragile mounted on the slide.

Hiya Explosive and thx for the thread, thought the lasers popularity tapered off a few years ago, glad to see advertising still earns them a market share. From my limited experience using them,I think the green is the better choice tho. Perhaps you may find a new use for it with dry fire training at home, they even sell laser sensitive targets that really light up,once the laser hits it. Curious tho, it its optimal use, what relation to sighting the front sight does the sighting of the green dot play. My aging eyes need ta know. Be well.
