Hey, wanted to see if anyone has ran the 150gr Syntech rounds from Federal?
If so how does it run compared to 147gr.
-
I haven't run it personally as I reload but I know a few guys running it for USPSA/IDPA and love it. They all say it's soft shooting.
-
I've been shooting the Fed Syntech 150. I like it. easy shooting, accurate.
10 yard group, 5 shots from 75 Shadow.

My buddy has swithed to it exclusively with his glock 34. He moved away from idpa to uspsa and loves the round. May have to look at some heavier than 147 bullets as I reload.

Just picked up a case a few weeks ago to take advantage of the rebate. So far so good. Really accurate, feeds well and runs clean. Also very quiet through a supressor with minimal blowback.

That is amazing I?m definitely going to put in a order.

Thanks guys.
Ill be running these. Wish I didn?t sell my Dillon but even if I kept it I wouldn?t have time to load so these sound like the best option

The big flat nose looks good for targets and cardboard.

I have limited experience with it, and it has been 100% positive in two different CZC Shadow pistols. Seems to be in short supply currently. Federal was offering rebates and the supply seemed to dwindle quickly.

Yeah, their hard to find no where local has any. Only 45acp and 40sw.

I've only shot the 124gr 9mm Syntech. But it shot great, was accurate and my pistol barely looked like it had been used when I got home from the range and broke it down.

I use these when the Dillon is down , not quite as soft as my own reloads but as close as you can get with factory ammo.
I've had no issues with them yet

• Look for them with a web site called.... https://ammoseek.com/
• There is no appreciable difference between the weights of 147gr and 150gr bullets. 3gr is well under 2/10ths of a gram. Given the exact same load and seating, I doubt a chrono can even tell the difference.
• Does anyone have an idea of the bullet velocity ? These could probably be duplicated quite easily.
;)

I tried some 124gr Federal Syntech vs S&B 124gr and could not perceive any difference at all in accuracy or felt recoil impulse in any of the 5 guns I shot them through. Since I shot both types of ammo at the same range session, I also cannot tell if it was “cleaner”. Of course I am certainly willing to accept the idea that I am just not “perceptive” enough to know the difference. I still have a few hundred rounds of them left for another range session. Maybe I’ll try to pay more attention next time.

According to this review, velocity is 870 fps: https://www.wideners.com/blog/federal-syntech-ammo-review/
Sort of wondering if the Steel Pepper Poppers would laugh at it. ;D

That is a 130 PF so not that week.
