News just broke today 3/22/19. The judge ruled on so called Assault Weapon Ban in Deerfield IL in favor of the plaintiffs that filled suite against Deerfield and their unconstitutional ban. As Deerfield IL resident its a big win for us and for the state of Illinois in general.

GOOD......for the people 8) 8) 8)

It's hard to imagine the Libs in Deerfield giving up...they will almost assuredly appeal the ruling. However even a little good news in this state is refreshing.

Sweet! 8) But like Winter, they'll be back. But then again, so will we! ;)

My only issue with these things are the government controllers get to spend taxpayer money to pay for their side of the case while trying to rob people of their rights/freedoms. They should have to ask for donations, same as the citizens and the groups defending their rights.

That may be the thing that shuts down the appeal process, should enough people who don't care one way or the other notify their local governments and say...ENOUGH!

I believe Deerfield was being represented pro bono. Their law firm is Perkins-Coie, the same ones the demonrats used to buy the phony Steele dossier.

I belive there were 2 law suits filled by the residence of Deerfield and one was from IL Daniel Easterday, the Illinois State Rifle Association and the Second Amendment Foundation that backed it. They just wanted to play the same card that Highland Park, IL back in 2013.

Highland Park got in under the grace period of finalizing laws prior to the CWP statute going into effect. Deerfield made the attempt to ban MSR's by amending a prior law, trying to skirt the moratorium against new laws. The judge stated that he viewed it as a new law, not an amendment, and therefore ineligible under the terms of the CWP law.
