Has anyone tried this for 9mm or 40S&W? I just noticed it on Alliant's website and was thinking about giving it a try, along with Sport Pistol.

works great for full power 9mm O0

The fourth page of this thread... https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=80638.0
has some extensive 9mm with BE-86 testing, but we don't do a lot of testing with 40 cal. Not sure why, but it just never seems to happen.
BE-86 is much slower, about the speed of Unique. However, it meters much better and therefore has much more consistent results. You'd want to use BE-86 for SD loads or loads you want to mimic SD loads. Or maybe even higher speed plinking.
Sport Pistol is much faster... about the speed of W231/HP-38. Much better for plinking and Minor PF competition. There's a full testing thread on Sport Pistol in our archives.
Both powders are wonderful and worth owning.

Great information! Thanks Wobbly! Based on that, I'm going to buy some. The only two powders I'm using for handgun loading right now are Unique and Hodgdon Universal, so figured it was time to try something different.

Neither powder will get you to 1200fps, but very few people ever need to go there.
If you start using BE-86 in your ammo in which you currently use Unique , you're likely never to open the Unique can again.
