Evening All!
I pulled my 75 omega out the safe this afternoon and checked clear before pressing the decocker, and nothing happened. The levers move freely and spring back but do not decock the hammer any longer. The gun only has 200 rounds through it and was fine when I last pulled it out.
Couldn?t find any obvious examples on line so here I am! I?d appreciate any thoughts on what?s happening!
Many thanks

Is the left side decocker lever totally pushed in against the frame? All I can think of.

Well I pulled it out to look again and heard some rattling around - and this fell out - guess this is the reason!
Wth is it and how does it just shear off?
Real pain shipping guns off to the factory [emoji2955]

If you have an Omega Convertible, CZ customer support can just send you a new decocker assembly.

Good to hear! I?ll give them a call in the morning- thanks!

What did that come off of?

What did that come off of?
No idea - it was rattling around inside and dropped out when I took the magazine out. I assume it?s part of the decocker assembly

Well, dug out my P01 Omega box. It's the center of the left side decocker shaft. How in the world did that break off?
Mine looks like it's a machined part of the shaft. May not be, but it looks like it is.
Yours looks like it's a separate piece that is made, then pressed onto the shaft. Darn silly/cheap/fragile way to make that piece, in my opinion. If that's how they do it. That metal "ring" that slides down around the shaft is very, very thin and if really made that way it's a definite failure point for the decocker set up.
Really surprises me if they did it that way.
But if, on the other hand, its machined as part of the shaft, how in the world did it break off like that??? Don't see how it could.
Edited to add - Yup, put on a second pair of glasses (my mode for working on small parts) and got a bright light and it does appear that is a two piece assembly. I can see the indention between the part that broke (on yours) and the shoulder on the decocker shaft, as well as the ring creating a hollow spot on the left side where it was pushed on past the round portion of the shaft (leaves sort of a half moon shaped cavity on the left side.
Sounds like your pistol would still fire?? But if you can't decock it with the levers it's like carrying a safet model cocked and "not locked."

Thanks for that - it will help explain to CZ what?s happening. Can?t think how it would break - one minute it worked and the next nothing. More than a little worrying that the part appears so weak on a slightly important part.
I could always switch out the decocker to the safety but I?m never carrying it like that either.
I?ll see what CZ have to say!

So CZ are sending me a new decocker assembly. Still unsure what went wrong - hope it was just a defective part and not an ongoing issue.

Good to hear. I've only dealt with CZ USA once on a defective sight and they took care of it no problem.

Good news! Not surprised! ;)

I've been impressed with CZ's Customer Service. Excellent on the phone, good about sending parts and when all else fails they arrange to bring gun back in for service. Everything is very smooth and seamless. I recently returned my 75 Omega for service and they email when it's received and weekly emails on progress.

I?ve only heard good things regarding CZ and am certainly a fan - but you never know till it?s you?re turn! I?d still rather not have to do any warranty stuff at all but the experience so far has been painless..I?m probably still scarred from trying to get hold of Taurus that one time [emoji38]

Well decocker assembly arrived quickly from CZ and easily replaced. All working again though I?d love to know how the assembly failed. But CZ customer service did great which is good to know though I doubt I?ll need them often.
On a separate track - is it worth putting a replacement spring in to reduce weight of DA pull. I don?t usually adjust anything from factory but I did once on a revolver and it really made a difference. So any recommendations?
Thanks for the support!

You can go with a 13# hammer spring. If you get light strikes, move up to 15#.
Usually, if you go with a 13# or lighter, reduced power firing pin spring and FPB spring are recommended.

Awesome thanks!

you can easily loose a couple of pounds of DA pull by changing to a lighter mainspring. The factory spring is 20 lbs (or so). If you are going to switch lighter than 15 lbs, the general recommendation is to use an extended firing pin and reduced power firing pin return spring.
-
Thanks - I looked briefly on CGW website at the yellow 18# spring and the 15# gold one specify that I also need to change the firing pin spring. I guess a phone call will clear up what I need easily enough! But I think I?ll definitely be reducing that DA pull even if it?s a couple of pounds!

go with the 15# spring and the extended firing pin / reduced power return spring combo. That is the upgrade I did to my P-07 Duty.
