Title: Seeking info on a model 27
Post by: Secondesign on May 20, 2019, 06:23:00 PM
This piece was personally taken from an officer by my father in route to Germany after the Huertgen Forest/Bulge where he was sent home R&R to prep for Island Hopping, at age 22.

What I know is serial 175xxx, WaA76: Gross-Meseritsch (CZ) swastika on the barrel, all three serial numbers match. I can't find any other markings, nothing on the left trigger guard as noted elsewhere. Holster has WaA93 (?) 1943.  I'm at a dead end in my research, I assume this is a run of the mill 1943 pistol? I see these selling from $300-1,500, other than marketing, why the variation?  I can't post pics on this page?

Thanks

condition will certainly affect the price

extras (holsters, magazines) are a good pricing bonus

having the capture papers adds to the provenance, and almost always adds a good amount of value to a WWII firearm.
