Title: FrankenCztein
Post by: Sulpgnir on May 20, 2019, 09:39:27 PM
I put a 75 .40SW slide on a compact frame.  It looks pretty cool with the long slide.  May take it to the range for a spin.  I think the 9mm steel frame can handle .40SW rounds.  The ejectors appear to be the same size and position on the their respective frames.  Mec-Gar .40SW magazines will fit the 9mm frame.

Here are the other halves - 75 Compact slide on full frame (Semi Compact?):

Congratulations. You may have just created a CZ 75-X. A direct competitor to the Glock 43-X. [emoji23]

Looks great. Actually it looks like it came direct out of the factory like that. Enjoy! :)

I thought there would be more of a gap between the 40 slide and compact frame, but I was wrong! Both of those guns look pretty nice!

Of course the bottom is the old semi-compact, offered for a while.  The long slide has been shown before.  Interesting.  Not sure people have shot them that way.

Tomorrow I will shoot the semi compact to see if it balances better.

The .40SW slide on a compact frame is probably not practical to shoot, as it already kicks like a donkey with a full size frame.

Just for fun, I will shoot a full 75 9mm slide on a compact frame too :D

I want to try the .40SW slide on a SP-01 frame.  Though I want to tune the SP-01 and replace the trigger before going to the range.  It may be as enjoyable as the 97.

Mix and Matchin' can be fun
Here's the Semi Compact DuoTone I put together a while back
The Matte (Brushed) Stainless Lower with a Semi Compact Upper:

The same MS Lower with my B-SA Upper:

All run without a flaw

Quick range report -

Final configuration:  Swapped the slides between the 75B SA and the Compact
Rounds:  115gr S&B and Fiocchi, and 147gr Blazer
Distance:  7 yards

The P-09 went first, may be a little rushed because I really wanted to shoot the other two.

I shot the "semi compact" and "long slide" side by side, and both performed flawlessly.  The only hiccup was that I fed the short magazine into the semi compact. Do'h!

Just as suspected, the "semi compact" seemed to balance better in my hands and I was able to acquire the sight picture quickly between shots.  I think that the longer grip also helped with the recoil.

The "long side" appeared to be heavy on the tip, but towards the end, I got used to it and liked it a lot, especially with 147gr rounds.

All in all, one of my better range trips.  Even the guys at the range were surprised by the inter-changeability of CZ pistols.

Looking forward to my other FrankenCztein combos :D

Can't wait to try the SP-40 combo.  I hope it will shoot as well as the 97 (https://www.dropbox.com/s/y3cpu4amu809asu/Rambo.gif?dl=1)

Funny that you mention using Fiocchi, as I just tried some Fiocchi 115 grain in my 75B this past weekend and got very good results with accuracy at 9 yards.

The Semi Compact is my configuration of choice and you have hit on most of the reasons
Recoil control is a big plus and Full HiCap Mags is another

Excellent!  The Semi Compact is right up there with my 97.

The 40 cal slide on an SP-01 frame is my bedside weapon. I had them hard chromed.  I plan on converting a 9mm to a 357 SIG barrel at some point.

I have a .40 75B Compact that I run a 40P slide on that?s a really soft shooter.  The heavier 40P slide runs well and it only took a minor notch in the slide to work with the 75B safety.
