Has anyone used the Czechpoint rear peep sight adapter, if so what are real world impressions comparing the original sight to the peep sight. Thanks

Yup and I love it. I?ve been using a cheap utg flip up sight. But I think the Daniel Defense fixed rear sight would be perfect. The kit comes with everything but the screw to attach it to the receiver. I don?t know how that makes any sense but I guess you can do that when you have the market cornered.

For perfect eyes, the original sight is good. Look at what Robski can do at the AK Operator's Union.
I've done two mods to my VZ2008's. The first was a peep sight by installing a sling stud in the factory ladder sight.

The second mod was fabbing an aperture sight close to the eye similar to the Czechpoint rear sight adapter.

Takeaways: For me, with 20/25 vision, the peep/aperture sights in both the ladder position and behind the receiver work equally well at 50 yards. With both sights, it is key to look through the rear hole, and then ignore it while staring at the front sight. Place the front sight on the target -- without paying any attention to the rear sight -- and fire. Your eye will align everything naturally. It won't be illuminated, of course, but target acquisition will be almost as fast as a red dot, and far faster than the factory sights which requiring aligning two separate sights with the target.
At 100 yards and beyond, however, the aperture behind the receiver is far more effective than if placed further from the eye on the ladder sight. It actually focuses the picture and increases depth of field. My groups shrunk in half using the aperture behind the receiver. At 200 yards, it allows me to see targets that I simply cannot with factory sights. It is a wonder of simplicity and effectiveness.
I spent quite a bit of time on the second mod, and not much less money than if I'd just bought the Czechpoint adapter. But as I like to tinker, it was worth it for me. If I ever modify another rifle, I'm going to save myself a weekend's time and go straight to the Czechpoint adapter.
