Title: Home office dry-fire range
Post by: earlan357 on June 19, 2019, 10:32:37 PM
I picked up about $20 worth of dry-fire targets from benstoegerproshop, some Velcro tape, and a $30 '6x4' industrial carpet from Lowes.  Popped in some grommets and hung it on my office wall.  No excuse not to practice and I...I mean the kids can run "stages" with the Nerf guns.

What are you using on your pistol? Laser ammo?

Great setup! I love it.
Have you tried to incorporate "LASR app" with this?

Nah.  I have a red-dot on my gun so it provides all the feedback I need.  I use this setup to practice transitions, turn and draws, Blake drills, reloads, etc.  Pretty much everything but splits.  For trigger control, I use a B8 target scaled for 3yards.  I set my timer for random start and try to pull the trigger before the end of the beep without disturbing the dot.  Scaled B-8 target is at the bottom of this page: https://www.barelytactical.org/targets/ (https://www.barelytactical.org/targets/)

That's awesome work!

The industrial carpet was way too heavy and the 3M hooks eventually failed. I picked up 2 yards of 60" loop fabric online for about $40 shipped and added grommets.  I also picked up a few more targets.  I made a mistake in trimming the fabric so tall though.   I should've just cut the 60"x72" piece in half.  Then I'd have two 60"x 36" to hang on adjacent walls to practice wider transitions.

I just started playing around with the LASR App and it is awesome!
I set up a dueling tree in my garage and it’ll hopefully help me with the run n guns I do.

Hey, that sounds like a genius setup for a home office dry-fire range!

Oh, I can totally relate to your setup! My home office has turned into a nerf gun battleground too, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Your dry-fire range sounds super cool, and I bet it's a hit with the whole family.
I remember setting up something similar with my kids. We used old cardboard boxes and some targets we printed out online. It's amazing how creative you can get with just a few simple materials.
If you're still looking for more nerf gun tips and tricks, I've got a suggestion. It's been my go-to for all things nerf-related, and I'm sure you'll find some great ideas there too.

What holster would fit the nerf gun?
