Hi guys, hopefully someone can help me out. I’m new to the forum so have patience please. I recently purchased a cz custom pcr. During a tactical training the instructor had us using snap caps and instructed us to chamber a cap and release the magazine. Every time I would release the magazine after chambering a snap cap the magazine would release but the snap cap in the magazine would eject.The instructor observed what was happening so he took my gun and loaded it with live ammo.After going through the same procedure and releasing the magazine he noticed the top bulletin the magazine seemed to be pushed forward a bit.The weight of the live ammo kept the bullet from flying out like the snap caps but still almost ejected the bullet out like the caps.I took the gun to the gunsmith at Maxon shooting and supplies but he couldn’t figure out why the gun was doing this.The gun is practically new and was customized by cz.If you don’t feed live ammo or snap caps into the chamber and just release the magazine their are no issues.Any advise would be appreciated.

I'm a bit confused? So you chamber a round, release the magazine and the top round in the mag bleeds out as the mag drops?
If it's only with snap caps I wouldn't worry? My initial thought would be the folks at CZ Custom may have tricked out the magazines your shooter came with? I'm sure if you call them they can tell you. Chances are a stock factory magazine will hold the cartridges better?

You're welcome, personally I clean my magazines with alcohol and that's it. I was taught to NEVER allow oil or other lubricant to get on the lips or cartridges. It could cause "bleeding". That being said, I know some DO wipe magazines and even cartridges down with lubricants and don't have problems???

What you are experiencing is quite normal on many guns. As the slide moves forward and strips a round into the chamber the next round in the mag is in contact with the bottom of the slide and can be moved forward enough to hang the round over the edge of the mag.
All that needs to be done is to polish the flat area on the bottom of the slide that contacts the top round in the mag. Even if you do nothing the gun will function just fine as it is and over time the bottom of the slide will self polish from use.

I agree- it's fairly normal. On Sig P238's and 938's, it's very normal. As long as it feeds reliably, I don't worry about it.

Yup, I have several semi auto pistols. 1911, CZ and striker fired. In all of them the process of chambering a round moves the next cartridge in the magazine forward a tad. None wind up so forward that the round will bleed out or hang up if the magazine is removed.

You are welcome! Enjoy the PCR. I've had mine for 10 years and wouldn't trade it for anything. I think it's the perfect all around handgun at least for me.

I agree, the PCR is my favorite CZ pistol. At lease for SD. I’m trying to stop myself from purchasing another one.
