Title: Stainless Cz's
Post by: Bodyguard 66 on August 23, 2019, 07:20:35 PM
Why so few stainless pistols from CZ? Do they make any Target/Competition models in Stainless?

From what i have gathered on the subject much like the CZ 97 in 45ACP the Stainless CZ models are made primarily for the American market. There was a run of SP-01 Compacts (steel frame compact with Tac rail) in Stainless (Edit: turns out these are plated) not too long ago. Other than that and the CZ75B i have not seen any other CZ Stainless models offered on a large scale.

You can have many CZ models hard chrome plated and get a similar look.

I am also interested to hear the input of other forum members on the subject.

I think it was confirmed by CZ-USA that the compact polished were in fact plated and not stainless.  Only the 75b, I also saw a post in here that someone said the high polish is being discontinued after 2019, not sure if that accurate.

They are about to become even fewer. Word is the stainless 75s are being discontinued at the end of the year.

love the look of the matte stainless over the high polish.  a local pawn shop has had a high polish 75B in their counter for a couple years, marked at $800.  which I thought was a little rich, so not surprised it hasn't sold.

Wish I could run into more SS ones.

I used a Matte Stainless for the Frame on my DuoTone Semi Compact, but the "MATTE" didn't hold-up well, in my opinion
It scuffed and would loose its Matte and become almost shiny, so I Polished then Brush that

Personally, I liked the look of the Limited or New Addition myself:

I’m hoping that once CZ gets the US factory up and running, they’ll be able to focus more on the American market and begin doing more stuff in stainless.

Yesterday I was looking at CZ's at my LGS. He had bought one from a guy that ended up with two stainless 75B's. He said he ran around 50 rounds through it. The owner shot me a price of $620. I put some money down on it and called him this morning and sold him a extra Dillon 550 to make up the difference. From what I read in this thread I just made a pretty good deal!!
