Title: Dropped hammer with slide off
Post by: grapnel on September 30, 2019, 10:55:34 PM
Ugh, feels really dumb to have done so. Decocks fine and trigger pull seems ok in DA and SA with a snap cap chambered. Hammer and sear don't look to have any issues, at least not from a view while fully assembled. Anything about the omega assembly or the polymer frame I should be worried about? I know the 1911 guys can have a problem with peening from such an accident. Have managed to avoid this dumb mistake on a pistol for a couple decades, and bam, screw-up.

It happens, unless you are doing it allot i would not worry about it.

Just don't make a habit of it. Doing it once isn't likely to damage anything.

As other have stated, just do not keep doing it. I am sure you are fine with a one time accident.

I try to avoid that, but have done it a few times by accident on my P-07's.  What I read somewhere is that it might bend the hammer pin.  My guns seem no worse off for it, but I don't make a habit out of it.

Did it a bunch on my p09 when I was new to guns. I’m somewhere between 4 and 5k rounds now. Don’t lose sleep man.
