If I install a Short Reset System in my PCR, do I need to totally disassemble the sear cage or try to just replace lifter and spring ???
Thanks for any advice.....

Technically you only need to install the CGW SRS lifter arm and the CGW Firing Pin for the SRS to work. So you could back the sear pin out just enough to accomplish this task. If it were me i would plan on disassembling the sear cage in the event that things do not go as planed. When i have completed this task in the past i did the full disassembly but i had other work to accomplish aside from the Lifter Arm replacement.
It might be a good idea to find a punch that just fits through the right side Sear Pin frame hole. This way you can catch the right side of the sear cage with the punch without interfering with the lifter arm. Remove the Hammer Spring and unspring the Trigger Bar, this way you will have less upward force on the sear cage. The key in my mind would be keeping everything in line while you work. Make sure to let us know how it goes!

Thanks Tok for the reply. My thought was to remove the cage via slave pin and try to replace the lifter & spring.
If it doesn't go I guess I'll have to go full Monty on it !!

Ahh i see, that being the case replacing the lifter without taking the sear cage to bits should be very doable. Extra FPB lifter arm springs are a good idea, they have a tendency to die while reinstalling the sear pin. May the project go smoothly.

I've done it the slave pin route. I put the assemble sear in a small vice to free up both hands. Makes it a lot easier. And as Tok suggested, get extra lifter springs just in case.

I've done both mine with a slave pin and not taking down the whole thing.Really not a big deal but as is ALWAYS the case the little lifter spring will mess with your mind.

Any set screws on the trigger?

Check the adjustment of the trigger bar support spring. There is a tutorial on CGW's website. Good luck.
