Looking at 97Bs on gunbroker I note that some have a serial number that begins with "C" and others begin with "D". Both had the number "19" noted on the right side of the barrel just in front of the ejection port.
Anyone have a clue as to what the C and/or D might indicate? It seems as though the ones with the "D" the asking price is about $50 more. Makes me wonder if the "D" serial numbers might be more desirable for some reason.
Thanks

Think I answered my own question. Placed a call to CZ-USA. It was explained to me the progression of manufacture is indicated by the C or D. After the C numbering is exhausted they then move on to D. So the D serial number models are the newer manufactured guns.

No, we all need each other. I should have called CZ-USA prior to the post. But we all now have the info!

That serial sequence started with the CZ 75B in 2004 with A###### and eventually folded in all the various firearms that CZUB made that previously had different SN formats. The US P-10 has a different format.
