Title: New Holster for my P-01
Post by: rckendall on December 17, 2019, 06:37:21 PM
I want to share my good fortune with everyone that I received a really good leather holster at a very reasonable price for my P-01. It is a 1791 Gun Leather model BH2.1 configured for a Sig P228. They don't make one for a P-01 but I remembered reading here that the Sig P228 is close enough in some cases.

So I took a chance and ordered it. It came with directions to break it in. My gun fit really tight at first so I followed their instructions. I gained a little but it wasn't making much progress. So after a good night's sleep I took the next step and wet the outer part of it and then inserted the gun (wrapped in a heavy plastic bag per the instructions). This time the gun went further into the holster and it was easier to stretch the leather this time. I worked with it off and on for an hour or so before removing and testing.

When I was comfortable with the fit holding it in my hand, I put it on my belt and found that it needed to be stretched more. The next time it did much better. After a few draws and re-holsters, it all came together.

The holster is way thicker than the other OWB holster I have for another gun that works ok, but this one has much thicker leather and has double layers in places. Very heavy duty. I am happy.

Thx rckendall for this info. :)
I was thinking about this holster long time ago, and gave up because of missed CZ brand on the list, even they advertised this holster with CZ75 Compact...  :o :(

Yup, that's the one alright, even down to the color I bought! Great minds think alike, as they say.

Thanks for posting the picture, I haven't progressed that far yet.
