Looks like they extended the gas system and handguard by a lot. Looks like around the equivalent of a midlength gas system, as opposed to the pistol length on the pistols.
The stock is the adjustable cheekrest version most commonly associated with the Bren BR. Hopefully these are the ones it ships with and the ones they'll include with 92rr kits, when they have them.
I think the barrel looks a little thicker too. Hopefully, it's not a government profile where it's thick only where you don't want. In fact, I really hope it's a Czech factory barrel and not a US one they put on for compliance reasons.

Hopefully the 16” barrels will work on the Pistols, since legally you can go from a pistol to a rifle and back, but not so from a rifle to a pistol without going through the SBR bs.
Wish CZ would hurry up and make more 7.62x39 (& 6.5 Grendel!) and .308 guns!
-
I will be in for a 5.56....but who knows when they arrive....
-
Except for the additional upper row of M-slots that looks an awfully lot like the HBI handguard.
-
CZ USA has the carbine listed on their website for $1999.99. I'm not seeing the BR in .308 anywhere though...dang it...
-
As it stands, the .308 BR is only available as a select fire rifle.
"for now".
I put that in quotes as that is what CZ had to say on their instagram page.
I would imagine that if the political climate stays favorable, the gun will come. It's only a matter of when and how much lol.

You can go from a pistol to a rifle, but you cannot go back to a pistol once the firearm has turned into a rifle.

Per ATF, you CAN convert an original pistol back and forth between a rifle and pistol. See this link for information: https://www.atf.gov/firearms/qa/can-i-lawfully-make-pistol-rifle-without-registering-firearm

Seems a lot safer that way, just not the other way around. Thank god for big government to help us out

Do AR mags work in the Brens? The magpul ones specifically.

Yes, I use pmags only. Work great!

I'm trying to talk myself out of getting one of these.. 2k seems excessive for my shooting ability/purposes. It just looks like such a nice gun and the CZ quality speaks for itself. I'm in VA though, so they might legislate me out of the opportunity to buy one..

Oh wow, thank you for correcting me! Seems like my local ATF branch is mistaken. It's right there in the policy.

I'm not sure how I feel about that handguard. If it's polymer then it probably helps with balance but I don't think I would necessarily like it on the BR.

"CZ has hinted there will be more calibers and a 308 big brother Bren 2 down the road, but for right now the 5.56 variant will be available."
I really hope CZ or somebody in the aftermarket has the foresight to make barrels in "more calibers" which would make the Bren so much more versatile. I see the Bren 2 pistol uses the same polymer lower for 7.62x39 and 5.56 (with an insert adaptor). It would seem to be a no brainer to offer a 6.5 Grendel barrel and be able to use AR 6.5 G magazines to feed it.
Same with .308 -- a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel option would be a no brainer on these guns.

Get what ever you want and do not comply with their idiotic and un-Constitutional regs.
Look at it this way: a Bren BR for $2K (probably a couple hundred bucks less when it actually comes to market) is @ $1,000 less than an FN SCAR with its $40 mags and (reported) reliability issues...
-
If you want one, get the bleeped rifle while it's easy and cheap to get. Things are only going to get worse.
-
I moved to West Virginia recently and am glad I wont have to put up with restrictive new rifle laws any more.
Best of luck to the rest of you guys. I promise I won't rub your nose in it!

The BR is not going to be in country this year, to the best rumor mill I listen to. So save for the BR for next year and get an MS carbine this year. :)
