Title: PS GRAND 9mm FMJ
Post by: CZ75ID on April 19, 2004, 07:43:35 PM
Anyone using this Slovak made 9mm hardball?

DANSAMMO has some on sale now and then.

I've never had any problems with his Olympic brand
            ammo.

I shot a box of it and really liked it.  However, I checked the bullets with a magnet and they are steel covered with copper.  I don't know if that is bad for a gun or not.

CZ75ID,
I am using PS GRAND 9mm FMJ ammo occasionally in my CZ75B. The ammo look a bit dirty but I experienced no problems. At least in Europe, they sell PS GRAND ammo under two different brand names (at least). The first brand name is ZVS holding (in a blue box)  and the second is Leader (in a light gray box).

            midMo1,
I was surprised to read that the bullets attract a magnet, but you are absolutely right. I have two lest over boxes of Leader PS Grand in 115 and 124 grains and I tested them. Personally I try to avoid steel bullets I believe that they cause more wear to the barrel.

I have shot well over 4 cases of PS Grand in my compact and have found no discernable wear to the barrel.  The 124grs are more accurate in my gun and I find them much less dirty to many other mfg's.
