Title: annnnnnnd I'm back. p-07 time (pointless post)
Post by: movingslow on February 03, 2020, 01:37:21 PM
I got a p-09 a while ago and loved it.   Its my bedside.   Did all the CGW stuff myself.   Carry a glock daily and got more into just training with that and rifle stuff.   picked up a P01 with the defensive package (done by CGW) along the way and loved it but kinda just got it to say I had it (its an amazing shooter and is my sexiest pistol for sure).   I am picking up a grey suppressor ready p07 from a local guy tomorrow for a deal and I am beyond excited again.    I really forgot how fun tuning the p series is and how much better of shooters they are.    Maybe I just realized (again) how boring glocks are after a while.

TL;DR This is a pointless post.  I'm getting a p07 tomorrow and I am excited to have something to tinker with and add to my CZ side of things.

Congrats! I'm giving glock one more try with a gen 5 glock 34 MOS soon.  If it sucks compared to my p10f optic ready then no more glocks for me.

You and glocks.  Me and M&Ps.

I left M&Ps (poor groups and reliability issues to buy my first CZ, also a P07.  Awesome pistol.  Resulted in quite a few more CZ's over the years.

Then what do I do?  Order an M&P 2.0 5" FDE 9MM.  So far it's reliable.  But even after buying/installing an Apex trigger kit and barrel it's only getting close to some of my worse CZs.  Doesn't begin to shoot with the P07 or P09.

Good luck with your Glock.

I’ll always have my g19.  But I’ll have others I like more.   I’ll honestly always carry a Glock

I wish someone would make a striker fired pistol that I could get next to. Sadly none of them have hammers so I'll always carry my PCR.

I don’t know why but I still carry the 19 over my p01.

I own 10 Glocks. The only one I carry is my 26 with a plus 2, for when I don't want to carry a pistol. The rest collect dust in the safe.

P07 is what I carry 90% of the time. It is a suppressor ready, with a comp and a RMR with no rear sight. I am bidding on a regular P07, that will go straight to CGW. It will also get milled for RMR, have a front suppressor height sight, no rear sight.

Love my P07/09

What is it about the hammer that you can’t give up?

I know I moved away from Glocks and single action or fully staged striker fired pistols for carry, because I just prefer having the DA first pull as my main safety.  Also, I prefer a decocker over a safety.   So I went back to CZ and Beretta.

Just curious what your reasoning is, because their could be a solution out there.

No solution really. I'm a traditionalist and just can't warm up to plastic guns (recently sold my P-07) and like you I prefer the long DA trigger stroke. I get free rentals with my range membership so I've tried all the popular new models and just have no interest in any of them.

When you have a striker fired gun in your holster, it's pretty safe.  Most accidental discharges seem to involve getting the gun into the holster. If my thumb is on my P-07's hammer, it's almost impossible to pull the trigger.  Makes for safe handling.

Agreed. Careful, slow holstering and a rigid holster are how you avoid NDs.

That said, even though I own several striker guns, I prefer the reassurance of a hammer and a heavier first trigger pull when holstering.

Wouldn’t address the problem of not liking polymer.  But I have a striker fired pistol I would carry, because it is DA/SA, has a decocker, and the striker protrudes as the trigger is pulled, or the striker is in fully cocked mode.

The Walther P99 AS, is one of those pistols, that I think a lot of people kind of misunderstood, and under appreciated.

I like shooting all metal guns but prefer carrying polymer ones.  :)

That's a cool gun never knew it existed.  Have some research to do

Don’t know about the 34, but I recently bought a G45 MOS, as I wanted to try a red dot on a pistol..I’m impressed..the red dot works well, and Glock has apparently fix the BTF issue with the breechface cut, My G45 throws empty’s much like a CZ, out to the right, landing about 6-8’away.. I do wish CZ would offer a P-07 with a optic cut slide.. That’s the main reason I bought the Glock, it was ready to go..

Most people have no clue about them, because they've been eclipsed by the PPQ in our SF crazed state.  The P99 is accurate, reliable, light, and a tad bigger than the P07.  Some have superior triggers in DA and all have fantastic SA triggers OTB.  Amazing guns.
