After removing the magazine guide from my CZ-75 to change out the hammer spring, I got wondering- can you have the magazine guide plate removed in your CZ -75 and not have any adverse things happen? Or will the magazine body rub up against the mainspring?

The mag brake does help guide the mag into position more smoothly but if you look at your pistol you should be able to see that the mag isn't going to hit the hammer spring. There are also 2 versions of the mag brake. A curved style which keeps the mags from dropping free (Europeans like this) and the flat style which allows mags to drop free for us in the US.

The "original" in my Pre B CZ85 was bend pretty bad. I left it out when I put the pistol back together with some new parts and a refinish job. No issues so far.
If I look in the mag. well of the P07 or P09 I can see the hammer spring clearly not guarded/protected by a mag. brake. No issues with those either.
