I’m looking at a 97B with a serial number A56**. Is this an older gun? I want to have the “new” barrel so it can feed hollow points.
Thanks,
Jeff

The first two digits before the serial number on the slide is the year of manufacture on the newer pistols. Before that the year of manufacture was located behind the ejection port.
Reference pic for newer CZs. Note: This is a 2014 model. Older models would be marked above the extractor claw, behind the ejection port.

Here is a comparison pic for the barrels.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I’ll be buying a new one.
