Yes I want a 457, but I really want to hear that they are up to the legendary accuracy of the CZ line. I do like the idea of an American safety, lower bolt throw.

I have both a 452 in 22LR and 22WMR, also bought a 457 when they came out. My 457 is in 22LR, accuracy is on par with the Cooper and Anschutz rifles my friends shoot.

from my experience, they are every bit as accurate. I think the individual barrel plays far more of a factor. I have a .17 HMR barrel from a 455 that dates to 2013 that shoots stellar. I put it into my newest 457 action and the accuracy is the same; it seems to have had no affect.
I prefer the shorter bolt throw and the safety of the 457, so I will be acquiring more of the 457 actions.

This is all good news for me. I have not had a Target grade rifle in a very long time. Last one was a Remington 540X single shot, it was very accurate. Stupid and sold it. So I have been looking into the CZ 457 MTR Varmint ever since they came out. Finally yesterday pulled the trigger and my LGS found some in stock and should have one on the way. Can't wait to try her out when ever she comes in, he was not sure because of this virus thing some distributers are a little behind. Usually it is within a week.

I have had a MTR, 20in barrel, since March of last year.
It started a CZ adiction.
Anyhow. Clean the new barrel real good. Even with a bronze brush a couple of wet strokes.
Wipe with patches till they come out clean. it will be nasty with brown stuff from the factory.
I have the DIProducts rail, extended mag release and their bolt knob on mine.
You are gonna love it. I hope it is a shooter out of the box. You know it is the only CZ 22r that has a match chamber.
Good luck.
Congratulations.

Thanks Capt.
I also have the DIP rail coming for it along with the tear drop bolt knob and the extended magazine release. I also have the YoDave springs coming and a Mueller 8-32x44 scope. This will be the 5th Mueller 8x32-44 scope that I have purchased (use to be able to get them for a measly $150). Really like them. You think I would smarten up and quit selling them with the rifles that I trade off.

I have 3 of the Muellers, the same as yours. The 4-32x44. Use Burris Signature Zee rings.
I love the scopes but the eye relief eats me alive sometimes. Most shooting is done at 50 and 100 yards.
Guess i need to adjust them to / for the best relief on the bench. As I shoot. Not in the gun vise, bore sighting to a target in the yard.
Does the eye relief bug you.??
Sorry to get off the subject, but couldn't find a way to PM you.

Not that I ever noticed, they have the side focus parallax adjustment and I never noticed any problems with my eye relief. It has been a long time since I have shot a bolt action rifle though. At least a couple of years.
