So I have been looking for CZ 97 and planned on paying $600 for a good condition used one... However a friend tells me he knows a guy who is out of work due to corona virus and needs $$ to get him by so he is selling his CZ 97B with a glossy blue finish. He says this is a rare gun because they no longer produce it with that finish and it's value is $900+. the seller is willing to take $800 for it. I looked at the gun and it is pretty (I'll post pictures below) so I went ahead and helped the guy out and gave him the $800 cash for it. I'm happy with my purchase but I am curious if I ever decide to sell this... is the market value on a CZ 97B in good shape really $900+? Thanks for your time and opinions.

There is one on GunBroker now with walnut grips and an opening bid of $1150. It didn't sell with an $1199 opening bid originally. So much for a sample of 1.
The Glossy Blue 97 pistols are certainly uncommon compared to the standard versions. 2019 MSRP was over $700 for one with aluminum grips and no tritium sights and $840 for BD with tritium. So you did OK on that deal.

I have one in the glossy blue finish. Mine is a 2012 and it is a really nice gun. I paid $750 for mine about a year and a half ago.
-
Yeah, I'm thinking I paid about what it was worth... glad I could help the guy out though and its a nice gun. Thanks for your responses.

I have one of the older models with the blued finish and walnut grips ad well as the never version with painted finish and aluminum grips. I like both of them. The blued one sits in a safe though. I think I paid around $500 for it about 5 years ago.

Wow $500... I don’t think you could get hardly get a used polycoat 97 for that today. I’m sure yours isn’t for sale but if it was... what would your asking price be?

It is worth what you CAN get for it not the amount you THINK you can get.

one way to look at is is this - it is worth $5 more than what the second highest bidder on GunBroker was willing to pay ;D

They've adjusted the description, pretty significantly. It no longer reads "GLOSSY BLUE", and nothing about unfired.

Hodge, I confirmed with Wards it is glossy blue and the Model number CZ-01412 is the correct one for Glossy Blue
