I've been wanting a pistol cal carbine for awhile. I don't own a Glock or an M&P so I figured I'd have to buy magazines just for the 2000. But while watching YouTube reviews I got some good news. HR Funk did a nice video on the gun and mentioned that other mag. inserts were available. I checked Kel Tec's site and was able to buy a CZ 75 adapter for $16.50! I have a pile of MecGar 75 mags. Thank you Mr. Funk!

Something to keep in mind is that the cz75 mag insert only works with S&W "multi-mag version - not the glock version. I made that mistake early on.
Also if you are looking for solid upgrades for the S2K check out mcarbo.com

I guess I got lucky. The version I bought is the S&W version. Kel Tec doesn't mention the difference on their web page.

I looked for a S&W version for years back when the KT2000 was inexpensive. Had a stack of 5906 mags and extended mags but never found one. Kinda neat it can take CZ mags. Might have to pick one up. Have lots of CZ mags. Still have the extended SW mags to! Bonus!

So just looking at the kelTec website looks like you need a Gen 2 multi mag version.
Some SUB2000 models have interchangeable magazine catches that can accept a variety of popular magazines.
2nd Generation Sub2000: The Multi-Mag SUB2000 variant offers interchangeable magazine catches. The magazine catches can be found on our website: keltecweapons.com/collections/accessories/sub2000/
Glock SUB2000: The Glock variant SUB2000s have a proprietary magazine catch and are not interchangeable with other brands.
1st Generation SUB2000: We no longer manufacture 1st generation parts. To switch magazine catches on 1st generation SUB2000s, a 2nd generation upgrade is required. The upgrade fee is $150.

I will be interested to see how this works out. I have been thinking about going this route as well to keep everything within the same mag and ammo system. I have seen some good reviews of the sub 2000 (maybe the only Kel-Tec product I have seen good reviews on)

Glock version has never been usable as anything but Glock. All the other versions where changeable. When they first came out I swapped to Beretta mag version ans with slight tweaking used CZ mags. For a while Keltec even had my change on the web site since at the time they recommended disassembly for the change and you don't need to disassemble.
Never had a problem for a LOT of rounds but Obummer made it worthwhile to sell along with my SU16 which was also trouble free.

You’re welcome! I hope you like that S2K! Mine has been very good and it’s worked well in its intended role. It goes with me routinely on my travels and it works well when I shoot it. Be sure to let me know what you think of yours.

Well, my $433 Sub 2K 40S&W has about $400 in upgrades on the way in addition to the CZ mag release. I went to Mcarbo and went nuts. Trigger kit, muzzle brake, bolt release, rear sight, all steel screws and stainless feed ramp! Nothing I like better than taking a good gun and making it better. I did the same with my CZ's and dropped a bit of coin with CGW and CZ Custom. Every man needs a hobby and that's mine.

I had a Sub2K for a while, fully M-Carbo'd and running CZ 75 mags. Never had a hiccup with it. Finally traded it in when I got my Scorpion, as I couldn't justify having both.

I had no idea they made adapters for that. Pretty cool

Yeah, they offer a number of different adapter plates for their 'multi-mag' version. They're inexpensive and install in a minute. I also ran Sig and S&W mags out of it at various times. The Gen 2 version of the Sub2K is a pretty cool little PCC. Never had a single problem with mine - it ate everything I fed through it.
