Hi, I'm a new CZ owner, recently purchased a CZ 27 from an online auction (local auction house, but do to COVID19, it was online). I really didn't know much about the gun, still learning, but what really caught my eye and pushed me to purchase it was the paperwork that came with it - "Customs Declaration" stating a Sgt. Thompson brought it home with him in August 28, 1945. Would anyone be able to give me, or direct me to, more information on this? Would this have been issued to a German soldier during WWII? Does the paperwork look legit and does having it increase the value? Any and all information will be greatly appreciated...thank you in advance!

Yes, the documentation looks good. It was confiscated from the enemy and the soldier convinced his CO and above that he be allowed to keep it as a souvenir from the war and take it back to the US.
If a soldier was caught with war "booty" and didn't have the necessary paperwork (welcome to the Army!) it would be confiscated and they would be subject to disciplinary action.

It also has the waffenamt stamp very faint above the right Grip panel indicating accepted by Wehrmacht. Mine has BOHMISCHE WAFFINFABRIK A.G. PRAGUE stamped on the slide between the serial number and muzzle. Suspect yours might be war time production but do not know that with any certainty

1943 production - most likely issued to a German NCO.

Paper work and holster adds a lot of value to the piece.. Over 220K of the CZ27's were produced in 43. Based upon the serial number the manufacturing date was around the 3rd quarter.

I consider capture papers to add about $100 to value.
