Title: new sp-01 with cgw pro pkg
Post by: mkd on May 23, 2020, 08:06:50 PM
installed the pro pkg and set the overtravel and pretravel as instructed, . noticed an issue with the sear not lifting high enough for the hammer spurs to clear the face of the sear when i hold the trigger in and cycle the hamer down with my thumb. hammer drops but not without ticking the face of the sear. do i nead to back out the overtravel screw ? will that increase the hammer /sear  clearance? i'm thinking so but don't want to disturb the blue locktite if that isn't the issue> if it prevents the hammer from falling if the overtravel screw is turned in my guess it needs to be backed out a bit. hoping blue locktite is my friend here!............It was the overtravel screw in to far! backed it out 3/4 turn and it missed with only 1/4 turn out!  hopefully good!

In the interest of 100% reliability, I don't use the over travel screw since I've had them back out when they are set at the minimum.

I don't think your over travel will affect the hammer / sear engagement. It's usually that the overtravel is set just a little bit too long for the trigger to work

You may have a different problem

If you are worried about the blue loktite, hit it with some heat before you adjust. I don't think you'll have a problem breaking it free.

things wen't well! polished the feed ramp and the slide rails and all is done. my lyman trigger scale should be here this week and i am anxious to see the differences from stock. loctite was not an issue when adjusting, just added more when i was done.
