I'm new to CZs. Just bought my P-01 about a month ago.
I've noticed that some SP-01s have 2 rails and some have 3. The website shows a 2 rail model. I also know the Tactical version has 3 rails and a decocker, but I've seen SP-01s with a manual safety and 3 rails. Are the newer versions the ones with 3 rails or 2?
Thanks!

I am assuming "rails" = the number of slots (sic) on the rail at the dust cover. I have a SP-01 Tactical, born year "17" with three slots on the rail.
Hope that helps.

Yes, the tactical has three spaces/set of rails. I'm seeing the standard, non-tactical safety model with both 2 and 3 rails/spaces. Here's a pic off the CZ website, followed by one for sale on a website. Different amount of rails.

Mine has three slots... picked it up new in July 2016.

Yeah, maybe someone with the Safety model will chime in. I only have the Tactical and it has three slots.

My Shadows have 3.

I think it is just a rolling change. The SP-01 came out first and then the Tac. So, they probably changed to 3 slots.

I have a safety model with 3 slot rail, I bought new 2 years ago.

Thank you to everyone who replied. I just picked up an SP-01 over the weekend. 3 rails. Now for the 10 day DROS wait. Ugh

just out of curiosity what difference would it make?

Realistically... none.
If you have a specific attachment, you might have different positions depending on which slot you lock it in. Let’s say you run a TLR-7A with different keys among 1913 cuts; you could tweak how close you are positioned from the trigger guard. But in reality, it is not going to make much of a difference.

Your right about that, with the TRL7 it can be a liitle bit of a reach to hit the switch on a 2 slot rail. Never thought about it till I tried putting it on a different gun.
