Title: KADET II question
Post by: QuickDrawMcgraw on August 13, 2020, 12:44:31 PM
Yesterday for my bday I decided to order a KADET II #01610

I would like to fit it to a full size CZ 75....currently I only have 3 x Pre-Bs (well 1 is an 85 with an older style slide stop -smaller holes than newer 85 slide stops you can buy off CZ-USA )

1 of my 75s might fit the magazines (due to it taking more of the newer mags than my other two)- but I'm not too hopeful and believe that I might need a newer CZ 75 (at least frame).

When fitting a KADET II - do I need to change anything if the donor frame is SA, Omega, B, BD, PreB - or does that not matter and the KADET II just works off of w/e 75 frame I put it on?  and if you could get a donor...what donor would you want for you KADET II?

Right now I was looking at 2 options but would consider almost anything.... a 75 Omega suppressor ready or the SA frame from CZ Custom.   I could get both for around the same price (the omega is new at a Pawn/gun store and I have some stuff I could take in to drive price down.)  I would consider almost any donor though that would possibly be a great frame for the KADET II.  I would almost  90%+ leave the KADET II on this frame.

Congrats on your KADET and Happy Birthday
From the list of Lowers you have, the KADET you've ordered "should" work on most (if not all) of them
A CZC Lower most likely will come with a light Hammer Spring
And if it's less than 17lbs, you will probable see a lot of lite strike failure to fires
Hope that helps

On a side note - CZ Custom put the SA Frame on sale in last 24hrs so I just went ahead and purchased one.  I will keep in mind about the Hammer Spring and if I get light strikes I will put a 17lb in it if it isn't already.  Thanks!
Edit - I got an email from Stuart saying that he also would change the Mainspring out to the heaviest that I could to make it work.   Thanks again to both of you for the mainspring info help!  I look forward to shooting this - will be a little bit as I ordered my KADET II upper from Optics Planet and they said couple weeks - but I had 5% off and some optics bucks so was cheaper than anywhere else I could get it.

Frame arrived last week and the Kadet II Adapter arrived today...

Can you get lucky and do NO fitting?  Mine went together nicely like it was made for each other.

The Kadet II is 2016 dated - I guess you would call NOS?  Even came with a CD-rom labeled Multilanguage Instruction Manuals & Support (funny thing - I have NO CD readers LOL) along with the KADET paperback manual - I got it from MGW.  (had one on order from Optics Planet but canx due to not shipping till October)
Frame is 2018 dated - the label on the box reads - Frame CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW cal 9X19 - is the SA frame CZ Custom has on sale right now

I am going to give it a try as set up - but I know I will probably have to change the Mainspring (hammer spring) out to a heavier one.  I have a CZ Custom hammer spring kit with them all the way to 16lb - and I have on order every single lb they had on Wolff Springs...so we will see.

With lighter main spring you may want to change firing pin spring (easy) to the one from the ballpoint pen. Find one that fits. It will be lighter than OEM and allow to use 13-15LB main spring with less or no lite strikes.

Looks GREAT QDM
The Shadow / B-SA Lower makes an outstanding Frame to run the KADET on
Mine, set-up on the B-SA Frame, is an amazing Shooter

Nice shooting!! and jealous of 2 extra mags - I'll order up some more once I need something else from a place that sells them :P

So I knew I was going shooting this coming Tuesday - but I ran out to my range yesterday to just test out the Shadow SA lower with the Kadet II upper without changing the hammer/main spring.  If it didn't work I would change it out before Tuesdays shoot.
I shot 180 rounds of CCI 40gr 1235 fps stuff - the red, white, blue tipped Patriot pack stuff and 20rds of Federal 36gr bulk pack - zero issues all fired.  So I'll just hold on to all the hammer springs I bought for when/if I need them.
I forgot my screw driver for the rear sight and figured I could mess with it on Tuesday.

15 and 25 feet shots - I know I shot one of the ducks at 50 feet but I usually don't shoot out that far - so don't know which one or if even in these pictures...it just would of been spread out more.

I'll give you this.....I LOVE my P-09 Kadet mags way more than these LOL - the ease of loading on the P-09 22lr mags I was spoiled.

Very nice
Yeah, I HATE those Standard KADET Mags
First time I loaded mine; I slit my Thumb wide open, on that Front Guide Lip
That's why I got into modding the Mag Loaders   8)

Luckily the P-07 Kadet mags are a breeze to load.  I love my Kadet kit.  I put 2k rounds through it this past week alone.  Zero firearm related malfunctions.  Zero feeding issues.  Have 6 mags for it, too, which is fun.

Fun fact, my factory P-10C tritium sights fit the Kadet slide perfectly.  With the stock black sights it shot about a foot high at 10 yards.  Now it is spot on with the different sights.

I want to pick up a conversion kit for my Shadow 2, but I have a mag well on it and am not sure how that would work out.  (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200908/bf7a3b94a400d56df7a433aab806fb2c.jpg)

Since I am NOT a fan of Poly Guns, I have zero experience with any of the CZ "P" Series of Pistols .... or their KADET Kits
But, I have heard nothing but good thing about them
Given their single piece Slide design, I'm not sure if it's even possible, for a P Series KADET, to be AS accurate as the 75 Series KADET's two piece design
But, it's great to hear you're enjoying yours
Both in function AND accuracy    8)
It's cool that you've been able to swap-out the OEM Sights for a more accurate set

You know; it would surprise me, if CZ doesn't start making / offering a Poly Mag for the 75 Series KADETs
Way cheaper to make, than those two piece Mag Bodies they have now    ;)
