I went to my first gunshow of 2020. It felt good to be at a show finally, but it was smallish show and nothing really caught my eye. My buddy and I left and decided to stop by a local store and I found this 455 sitting in a rack. It was used, but looked unused. Very clean and not a mark on it. Rear sight wasn't included. I picked it up for $350.00. Not too bad looking online. I love the stock. I had been kind of looking for one like it, but no shows over the past couple of years had what I wanted. My grandson will eventually get it, but hopefully not for a long time! 2018 model with 24" barrel. Geez the magazine price! Oh well. Picked up a 10 round to go with the included 5 round. 2 bricks as they are running low. Should be fun!(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200815/75c97e2062c276f150913c411b2e485d.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200815/7e985c7e5dff399552365a16e3bea61b.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200815/a9dea74a5e988ca80502c5146df24da1.jpg)

Nice find. Nice price. Is that the Training Rifle?
-
Thanks. The rifle is a Lux II. The thing is spotless. I ran a few patches through the barrel and they came out like I was dusting it off. Trigger has absolutely no take up and as you can see in the pic, is a hair under 2lb. I did nothing to it. I can't wait to see how it shoots. Beautiful rifle, and sounds like you got a deal too. You mentioned the trigger and it reminded me, that the trigger on my 452 is the nicest factory trigger I have in my rifle collection. You and your grandson are going to love it

I called CZ and found out the rifle is definitely a Trainer. I was reflecting some faulty info in my first reply. No big deal. I just wanted to have the correct info.

Steve, you are going to love your 455.
I have a 452 trainer that shoots sub MOA at 50 yards with Lapua Polar Biathlon and Lapua Midas +. This was after testing other ammo with CCI SV almost at MOA.

Rhodster, I do already. I took it out yesterday and ran what ammo I could get my hands on, Remington Golden Bullet, Aquila something, and Federal Target. No issues at all. I shot it the way it came adjustment wise. I can tell the gun is accurate as can be, but I was no where near steady. It was odd, but I'm not a young man anymore. I could blame it on the range rest I used, but that would be a lame excuse. The encouraging thing was using a target someone left up at 100 yards, I got a few holes dead center after tweaking the Nikon. All three brands shot about the same, which surprised me.

Looks like you got a nice deal all around. Well done.

Feels good to get lucky once in a while!

Nice find! My 455 is one of the most accurate rifles in my collection. You will love this one for a long time.

That's a great score.
Good on you.

Thanks. I appreciate it.
I added a Nohma sling today. Nice piece for $23.00. I like the rustic look of the buffalo hide. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200821/481dcddc77d979854ac31c4d0b86c0ca.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200821/56f7ade927791077f3955f03b89d2190.jpg)

I have a 455 and really enjoy shooting it. Hope you have a good time with your new find.

Bobjd, I am having fun with it. I'm learning more and more about the CZ rifle family. I have my eye on a couple more, but I cannot decide between 6.5 Creedmore, 7.62 x 39, or .223. All three would be sweet, but I have to be realistic.
I have also had to eat crow pertaining to .22lr as I abused my buddies about it each time they were shooting it. I used to tell them their guns sounded like someone shooting a spitball out of a straw. What goes around comes around. I'm having fun and taking abuse like a man.
I like the trigger just under 2lb. I can go lighter, but chose to leave it there. I need to work on the same issue JoeL. noted. My pulse rate moves the gun side to side. I'll have to look into shooting bags or a bipod. I'll figure it out.

I also had the pulse rate issue. I am more of a pistol shooter so the movement issue surprised me. I think I have it solved with an adjustable rest for the front and a shooting bag for the rear. Also trigger time helps.

As you've discovered 22 are fun at any age. You'll find also that "eating crow" is a lot like "putting your foot in your mouth", after a while you wish it was available in different flavors.

I usually just shoot pistols myself. I give my AR a workout once in a while, and now with ammo pricing outta control, the 455 is going to be busy.
