Title: CZ75 kadet
Post by: init1973 on September 10, 2020, 06:32:56 PM
Will a 9mm slide 75b or 85b work on a CZ75 kadet body ?
Thanks

does the Kadet frame have a firing pin block lifter?

I didn't think the dedicated Kadet pistols are equipped that way. If no FPBL, you will need a slide without the FPB for it to work (otherwise you'll just get "click" instead of "bang")

Thanks for your reply, the gun has a safety lever, those that help ?

If you remove the slide and hold back the hammer while pulling the trigger, does a little tab pop up from the frame? If so, then you have a firing pin block lifter in your frame. If nothing pops up when the hammer tries to release (since you are holding it back to keep it from slamming into the frame), then your frame doesn't have a firing pin block lifter.

Safety is something else. Google CZ Firing pin lifter or an animated CZ action gif..  A factory 75B or 85B slide won’t work on a factory Kadet frame without modification. Basically you remove the lifter block and spring. CZ Custom use to sell slides with out the firing pin block setup. Forget the model. They were kinda  pricey.

Eastman has a great explanation.

Not 100% sure, but if I remember correctly (and if the Instruction Manual doesn't lie), the full KADET Pistol Frames do have a Firing Pin Block Lever and a 9mm Ejector
Part No. 14 & 10 in the CZ 75 KADET IM:

Given that .... a standard 9mm, 75B (type) Upper, should work (in theory)

Can guarantee that a 2004 stock factory Kadet does not have a firing pin lifter. I looked at buying a slide years ago but just bought a new gun. That way I could lower the spring weights and replace the hammer and have a cool little shooter. Can’t do that and have a reliable Kadet.  :(

If your Frame has one, the Lifter resides at the rear right of the Sear Block

If your Frame doesn't have it, you'll need to remove the Firing Pin Block from the Slide, and you'll be golden
Place your Finger on the Right Side of the Hammer and you'll feel it move when you squeeze the Trigger
