The company that owns PSA, as well as other companies, has put an offer of 65 million to buy the Remington Ammunition line. Seems like a smart move for sure. I hope someone buys the Remington gun business and turns it around.
-
Glad that PSA is buying the Remington Ammunition Lines. Hopefully, their quality will improve with new management.
I would like to see FN-USA or Savage buy the Remington Firearms division.
-
Is it a done deal now? The last I saw they had put a bid in along with other people.
PSA is awesome. I hope this comes to be.

Looks like Vista Outdoor will be the new owner for 81 million.

And Ruger acquired Marlin in the big Remington yard sale. I'm actually optimistic about that Ruger will do good things with it.

That is interesting for sure. I can see Ruger doing great things for the Marlin name!

I sure Hope Ruger will rebuild the quality and keep Marlin lever actions available. I'd be very happy to find a well made new production marlin 44mag and/or 45 Colt rifle.
-
Yeah, I think there is real potential for Ruger to restore Marlin to a fairly high-end compliment to the Ruger brand, with a focus on quality traditional long guns. Nowhere to go but up, given Marlin's recent history.

The Marlin 1894 would be a great complement to the Blackhawks, Super Blackhawks and Vaqueros.
The 39A would be a great complement to a Single Six, Bearcat or Wrangler.
Ruger could even make a lever in .30 Carbine O0

This would be perfect. Ruger would make Marlins right. I couldn't bring myself to buy a Remlin.

JJE (which owns PSA) bought DPMS, H&R, Stormlake, AAC, and Parker brands from Remington.
Looks like Barnes and Vista outdoors bought the ammo portions of Remington's portfolio

Fingers crossed Ruger keeps up the production of the Dark series Marlins. Those are honestly awesome but they're selling for twice the price of MSRP right now :o

That is what I am most excited about. I have wanted a Marlin lever rifle for years now, but keep hearing quality issues. Will keep an eye on this for sure!

very exciting news!!

Will they be Ruglins? Or Margers?
Sorry, couldn't resist.
Arfcom is kind of excited about PSA buying H&R and DPMS.
DPMS may= more GII rifles and carbines. PSA is said to have offered a few small framed .308's a few years ago but ran afoul of some DPMS patents and had to stop. Now that they own DPMS there shouldn't be any patent issues.
Another thing going for this sale is that PSA has said they will pursue the idea of starting up the H&R machinery for building M1 Garands again. Say what you will about the mid 50's M1's, but my H&Rs are "nicer" when it comes to metal finish and uniformity of parkerizing than the Springfield Armory M1s I have.
Want a cold chill? I read, one time, that a sign above the entrance door to the part of the H&R plant where the M1s were made read, "Build each rifle as if for your own son." Or something to that effect. Heck of a way to personalize it.

I've been using the term "Ruglins", but Margers, Rugarlins and more will no doubt be discussed on the gun forums
-
Don't care what you call them, as long as I can call them well made and reliable.
