Title: SP01 & 99021 RMR questions: best dovetail mount? If milled keep rear sight?
Post by: FingerBlaster on October 07, 2020, 02:26:35 PM
I'm getting intersted in red dots on my pistols... My main shtf pistol is my cz sp01 and one of my 2 carry guns is a 99021 steel frame p01.

Before i go and mill my slides I just want to try these out at the range a bit, so i'm thinking a dovetail mount would be best to start with.  Is there a single rear dovetail mounting plate I can get that will work on both pistols?  Which mounting plate would be best?

If i end up liking it I will want to mill both slides for an RMR.  Can the rear sight be retained? or a mounting plate that has a rear sight on it?

I wouldn’t bother with the rear sight. Check out primary machine. Best milling for this setup, in my opinion of course.

Also I like the Springer Precision dovetail mounting plate.

Trijicon makes an RMR 1911 adapter plate that includes a tritium rear sight. It’s pricey and bulky but can be used with the 75.
