Title: Ringing steel at 100 yards with the P-09 in the Mountains of New Mexico
Post by: Joe L on October 29, 2020, 03:58:42 PM
I need some laser work done on my right (shooting) eye, so I wasn't sure if this was going to work out or not.  I shot 35 rounds at paper first with fair, not excellent, results, so I decided to try the hanging steel 12x24 plate, with the idea that if it didn't work out, I just wouldn't publish the video!   :) :)  It worked out OK.  It may take until 3 o'clock mountain time for YouTube to finish.

Still looking forward to some tuning on the right eye.  I'll try the rifle on Friday, I hope.

And, yes, I am going to clean it, even after only 50 rounds.

Here is the video of the target I used to estimate the holdover for the steel target.  Will finish uploading at around 4:30 mountain time.

I had made a 2 right, 2 down adjustment on the Burris FF3 sight just prior to shooting this target.   Turns out I didn't need to do that.   I am not sure why the first three shots were out of frame, high, I think.  This sight has been beat to death.  Might be time to replace it.  Or my eyesight was just not good when I first started shooting today.  From this target on, I was shooting pretty well.

Dang, 100 yards with a pistol! I thought that's what rifles were for? Nice shooting, though.

He has actually done that at 200 yards with that same pistol. I'm happy when I hit the steel at 50 yards with a handgun! As always, darn nice shooting, sir!
