Title: Election not looking good for 2A.
Post by: 357MAGNOLE on November 05, 2020, 02:35:19 AM
Alright, so things arent looking very good right now.  What are we possibly looking at having to deal with over the next how ever many years in terms of 2A changes?  Do yall think it will go to the extreme end of banning AR platforms, do you think people are going to willingly accept the changes?

The good news is that we did better in Congress than most people felt we would. So far it looks like we keep the Senate and gained some ground in the House. The mid terms could be good for 2a issues. So I wouldnt say things are good, just not as bad as they could have been if the Dems controlled the entire government.

If Biden gets in, look for lots of stupidity via BATF rulings and executive orders. The other question is whether Senate Republicans go back to selling us out like they did during the Obama years.

Its going to be interesting. I was in Va when the Gov tried to instill new laws and tons of county Sheriff's said they outright refused to uphold those laws and declared their counties as sanctuary counties.  Hoping that if it ever came to some crazy ish like that here there would be more country Sheriff's then not that would do the same.

We still have something called the Supreme Court. Any serious 2A challenges will likely end up there, and there is plenty of precedent in legal rulings for upholding the true wording and intent of the 2nd Amendment.

However, my hope that there would finally be consequences for states that have passed laws in clear violation of the 2A is probably not going to happen. Then again, it didn't happen under the current president, either.

My hope is that people will FINALLY be held legally accountable for the fraudulent votes of dead people being cast and any other fraudulent voting.  >:(

Some other things jeopardizing the second amendment are the folks bringing guns to protests, storming capital buildings bearing arms and pointing them around. Firearms should not be used for display or show-of-force purposes in the civilian world. IN my mindset and education, a weapon never appears unless it is at the moment one intends to use it.

"Speak softly and carry a big stick" is extremely sage advice that we should embrace.  No need to antagonize/intimidate others.

Well I don't completely disagree with this but I don't completely agree either. There were men who had guts enough to bring out their guns and create this country and the day may soon come when we need to do the same to keep it. Too many little tin pot dictators exist today even in the smallest local governments.
