I was given this CZ pistol from my father who was a WWII combat veteran. In all those years he talked very little about his experience during the war. I know he was in combat and the only incident that he ever described to me was a hand to hand fight with a Nazi. He obviously prevailed. It is unclear whether it was that particular Nazi that this gun came from, but I think it might be. He also gave me a swastika armband that he also took, again presumably at the same time. I can't confirm any of the story and unfortuantely he passed 24 years ago without providing any written provinance. I think I saw something 40+ years ago, an army document permitting him to bring it home. It was a long time ago. About the only thing I have besides this pistol is that Nazi arm band and a few Nazi pins and trinkets.
I think this is a CZ24, but need confirmation. I was confused regarding the model, but know it shoots .380/9kurz as the interior of the barrel is a hair larger than my PPKs which I know is a .380. The markings really had me confused because on one side of the pistol it's marked CZ25, but we know it's not that model. On the other side is stamped "26", whatever that means. But of all the CZ's I've seen on the internet all the CZ24's look pretty much like this one.
It is in really good shape for it's age and history. I've fired less than 50 rounds through it but have had it in a bank vault for years. It must be the design but it shoots much "softer" than my PPKs, though similar in size and same caliber firing the same ammo. It had no issues feeding and felt guilty that I hadn't shot it much at all, but would have felt more guilty putting wear and tear on it. As you can see from the photos, other than blueing it's in really good shape considering it was carried and presumably used by a a Nazi soldier.
It's not doing me any good in a safe and I don't think my daughters would appreciate it as an heirloom. I'm thinking that I'd like to sell it and get a nice compact modern 9mm that I might actually shoot. It all depends on what this gun can bring. Either that or my Manurhin PPKs .380. I think I'd really like a CZ P-10c or P-10s (I'm not really a fan of Glocks). It all depends.
So what do you experts think?

I think you're right. But the odd thing is if you type in "CZ MODEL 25 PISTOL .380" that pistol comes up. But if you only type in CZ 25 or CZ25 pistol all sorts of guns come up.
I wonder what mine is worth. The one at the auction I think went too cheap and looked like the steel was poorly reconditioned. Mine is in original condition.

Interesting gun but I'd say the gun in the auction went for more than it was worth. There's clearly rust and pitting on the front strap and overall condition wasn't great plus the magazine was not included.
All you can do is keep watching auctions if any of these come up for sale and track what they sell for.

So now that we've pretty much established what it is, the question becomes what to do with it now?
I don't think I have that great of an emotional attachment to it and it had been sitting in a bank vault for over 30 years. And back then someone said to me I shouldn't shoot it a lot which might "batter" the gun, so I don't think I put more than 50 or 75 rounds through it. But the one thing I remember is that it shoots smoother and softer than my other .380 a Manurhin (Walther) PPS/s with the same ammo.
I'm not sure what I can actually get for it if I try to sell it, but I don't think it's worth selling for $300 or $400. As far as a carry gun, though untested with current defensive ammo (but I expect to be fine) my only issue is the safety release, a little button on the side. As it's a SA only, I would carry this gun without a bullet in the chamber as IMO it is easier to rack the slide (this gun is so much lighter and easier than my Manurhin which (I think) can be carried de-cocked, safety off with a round in the chamber. If I had my drothers today and the cash, I'd purchase a CZ P-10C or P-10s or alternately one of the Glocks, though I prefer the ergonomics of CZ's.

There are certainly better options for a carry pistol than a vz24 (says the guy who frequently carries a vz82).
You can look at completed auctions on GunBroker (have to be logged in) to see what people are willing to pay.

It's an interesting design. Much better shape than my '37. I would keep it if I were you.

I've got to admit that I've always been intrigued by this rotary-locking pistol. If you put it up for auction, please let us know so I can bid on it.
