Title: Israeli Surplus CZ83
Post by: Steeldog on December 17, 2020, 01:14:38 AM
I just scored an Israeli Surplus CZ83 of Gunbroker. Looks to be in good condition on the pics. I pick it up from my dealer tomorrow. I'm pretty excited.

Congratulations, I didn't know there were surplus Israeli CZs.  Do you know if it was police, military or perhaps either?

The Israelis bought a lot of CZ75 and 83 pistols. The surplus CZ 75s usually have the mainspring plug retaining pin modified for a lanyard loop. The CZ 83s often have a Star of David and possibly Hebrew text on the pistols.

Is your 83 a Satin Nickel?

Is the CZ 83 7.65mm or 380

the Israeli CZ83 pistols I've seen were 9mm Browning Short aka .380.

It's been produced in both calibers.

It was a law enforcement/corrections turn in from Israel.

.380, I really wanted a 7.65 but they cost almost double and magazines for them are very hard to find.

I finally picked it up today. Disassembly is pretty easy. I’ll probably need a new recoil spring. It’s definitely been fired. Not too bad after a decent clean and lube. It’s in very good condition. I’m surprised there’s no Israeli Star on it. I can’t wait to test fire it at the range. The trigger is really nice. It sucks .380 is super expensive right now along with all other calibers. I’m planning on having this Hard Chromed in the future. I’d like to carry this and TN humidity isn’t fire arm friendly.

It definitely is. I’m almost tempted to get a second one 9x18 Makarov if I find a good deal.

Nice looking CZ.

If you are in Tennessee, you should consider sending your pistol to CCR to be refinished.

They are in Tenn. i bought a finish weary CZ82 from JG Sales last year, great mechanical shape, but the paint was gone.  I sent it to Cummings Custom Refinishing and had it done in their House Black CeraHide

Intial cost of the gun, and refinishing has cost me about $500 total. However, I've been purchasing magazines when I I can. I found some NOS CZ grips from Europe, and also bought some wood grips from Grips4U. I prefer the black factory grips.

I carry it cocked and locked, also found a CZ 82 holster from Europe.

It came back like a new pistol mimicking the factory paint, but much more durable, it is a ceramic based polymer finish. They also offer CPII /1 finishes, based a harder finish, plating rivaling Hard Chrome.

I am very pleased with the finish, total cost, return shipping catching them during a sale was about $250. I will try to find a photo to post here.

Man, you got a good deal on that sale. CCR Refinishing has an awesome reputation. They are not too far of a drive for me. I’m holding out until the next sale. Another option I was thinking of was Mahovsky’s Metalife. His prices are significantly less even with shipping. Looking forward to seeing the pics.

https://rguns.net/shop/beretta-85f-380-acp-8-shot-magazine-pre-owned/
cheap mags and the .32 ACP gun is in stock also, the URL description is incorrect, as the add is for a .32 ACP mag.

How could the company get the ad so wrong by listing a Beretta 81 (32ACP) instead of the CZ 83 (32 ACP)?

based on the AR-15 HBAR upper I bought from them, I wouldn't underestimate their ability to get things wrong   :o

That’s really awesome. What kind of fiber optic fronts sites are those?

I put HIVIZ on the front and painted white dots on the rear sight.
