Fear mongering.  This has been proposed in the past and never makes it out of committee. More concerned with other issues much more likely to get some traction.  This bill has never even had a co-sponsor in the last half decade, because it clearly violates other laws already in force.

I think I will stay concerned about all of it. Rather be a bit over-concerned than complacent.

Yeah I agree. One thing I've learned over the years is that ALL those old timers who thought they knew better really didn't know crap. I can't tell you how many times I heard someone say "THEY CAN"T DO THAT WE HAVE A CONSTITUTION" or 'THAT"LL NEVER HAPPEN". Well guess what ALL of that stuff has happened, is happening and will continue at this point to happen.
We need to be vigilant and take nothing for granted ever again.

Another way of looking at it is to think back twenty or thirty years, at all the things we thought were inconceivable, all of the "that will NEVER happen" issues. Kind of makes all sorts of possibilities pretty scary. There is a tendency, I think to view such considerations as a form of panic, but it's not, it's merely common sense.

Or maybe thats the same thing you were saying  :o
