CZ Owners Preferred Ammo List
This thread will become a list of ammunition known to properly fit and function in common CZ carry pistols (not competition pistols). It will be open to users suggestions and submittals, like the 9mm Bullet Length post of a few years back. To be considered for listing, the ammunition should have been tried in at least 2 different CZ pistols with stock springing. We will start with 380Auto, 9mm, 40S&W, and 45ACP from Federal, Hornady, Remington, Speer and Winchester. This list will focus mainly on SD ammo, but will naturally come to include many others.
• At a minimum your suggestion should include: brand, exact product name, product number, bullet weight, and caliber. Submissions that don't include all the information will be deleted.

I only own one CZ firearm- a P10-C, and it's only been used with range ammo, so I don't meet the standards Wobbly has set forth for this thread . . . but in the spirit of getting the ball rolling I will share what I have used in it (aside from hand loads) that has functioned without a hiccup. All parts including springs are the original factory parts.
Sellier & Bellot 9mm 115 gr. FMJ SB9A
Blazer Brass 9mm 115 gr. FMJ 5200
Geco 9mm 124 gr. FMJ 220340050

Speer 9mm +P 124gr. Gold Dot HP 23617/53617

My Wife and I have not had any problems with the defensive ammo we've been shooting through our P07s. Hers is totally original, and mine has all original parts, but has undergone a thorough internal polishing.
We are currently using: Hornady Critical Duty, 9mm, +P, 124gr Product# 90215
While there is other ammo I'd prefer, these use Hornady's "Flexlock" bullets that don't violate New Jersey's hollow point restrictions. Another round I've been curious about is the Lehigh Defense or Underwood "Extreme Defense" solid copper projectile. Has anybody tried either of these in their CZ pistois ?

I ran Federal 124gr. HST P9HST3 through my SP01 UGT & 75D Compact. This was before I did anything to either firearm as per requirements. OAL was shorter than the Federal 147gr. HST P9HST4, which failed the plunk test.
I did not have time to add, but S&B 124 gr. SB9B worked great. I went through a ton of them shooting both aforementioned guns.

I carry Liberty Civil Defense 50 grain 9mm HP ammo. It has never failed to feed, eject or go BANG in any of my CZs or Sigs. we hog hunt twice a year and it works very well to dispatch an injured animal.

Yes, I shot a lot of the S&B 124gr. SB9B through several CZ's, before I started reloading, but I couldn't remember the item number. Thanks!

Question - How many rounds on a certain pistol before you think it would be worthy of inclusion on this list?
That's up to the owners of the list.... YOU. All I ask is that it be a major brand, something that most any shooter could have walked into a LGS and purchased.
The only quantity requirements are for Plunk & Spin testing, and that number is 6 to 10 of any new-to-you brand or style.

PMC 9mm 115gr JHP "9B"
Full box went through my brand new P10S without a hitch.
Noticed it had more flash than the Hornady Critical Defense though.

Sellier & Bellot
9mm 124gr FMJ SB9B
9mm 115gr JHP SB9C

I run Federal 124gr HST. P9HST3 thru my P10C and P01, never a problem in 3 yrs.
-
I've now been able to run some ammo through 2 different CZ barrels (both P-10c 4.02 inch) - plus, these rounds passed the initial "plunk" test in both barrels. This was at least 20 rds of each ammo through each barrel.
American Eagle (Federal) 147gr flat point (FMJ) AE9FP
speer lawman 147gr TMJ (FMJ) 53620
speer gold dot 124gr JHP
more to follow as I break them in
-
Was able to get in some more range time today, and shot 2 different manufacturers'. Again, at least 20 rounds of each ammo through both P-10cs - no issues (and previously passed plunk test in both barrels).
S&B 115gr FMJ SB9A
Win 115gr FMJ Q4172
-
Fiocchi 9mm 115 gr FMJ 9AP
Performs well in all my 9mm guns and made in Ozark, MO and Little Rock, AR.
-
Re Blazer Brass #5201.
More 300 rounds of 124 grain FMJ between my Shadow 1, P10S and Scorpion.
-
Great thread.
I see my preferred 124 gr Speer GDHP defensive load is already on the list; I also use:
Speer Lawman 124 Gr 53651
Cheers

Recently ran more Hornady Critical Duty through the P07s without any problems. That's #90215 124gr +P
Also just picked up a few boxes of Underwood 90gr +P Extreme Defender to try out. NJ is funny about hollow points, and I'm curious about all copper projectiles to avoid giving any home invaders lead poisoning !

"Factory ammo"? What is "Factory ammo"... just kidding. I only buy SD ammo, and right my my poison of choice in the P-10C is Hornaday Critical Duty 135gr _P which works pretty well. The P-10M was shot with Hornaday Critical Defense Lite, which is a 100gr FTX bullet and it was reasonably accurate and functioned well in the little thing.
-
Blazer brass 124 Gr 9mm 124 Gr Federal 124 Fioccii out of those 3 Blazer is my preferred ammo P 07 and P09 P10 c and F and SP 01 all run great

No .45 data? +p Speer, Federal, and Hornady are real workhorses. My 97B does not like to be short-stroked!

No 45ACP data because no one has submitted any. It's all explained in the first post.

Federal Syntech
9mm
115 grain
AE95J1
-
My CZ S2 does not like Federal Syntec at all, however it loves Freedom Munitions 135 and 147gr in either hollow point or FMJ. Both are very accurate.
[What weight on the Syntec ??]
-
Tulammo TA919100
9mm Luger
115 gr Full Metal Jacket (FMJ)
Steel Cased
Shot without issue through both a CZ P-01 and a CZ 85 Combat, both mechanically “stock”.

In my own loading for my 97-BE, I found the pistol to be EXTREMELY sensitive to OAL with certain profiles, but flawless when the correct OAL was found, and I was loading soft 50 yard precision/bullseye loads. I can assure you that not only is +P not required, but you don't even need stout standard pressure loads. What you need is the correct OAL for the profile. I hope this may provide some assistance. ;)

I notice no one has posted anything about Magtech ammo.
Does this mean we only have bad things to say about this brand? Even the Guardian Golds?
I know I have bought and shot some, but it isn't one of my "usual brands" which makes it difficult to say what ate it

AMMO Incorporated, 9 mm, 124gr, TMC, A50 (black box). Multiple 50 round boxes through PCR, SP-01, & Shadow 2. All stock, no issues.

My decockers (75D, P-01, SP-01 Tactical) have successfully run:

Norma Range and Training 124gr 9mm SK: 620340050
Federal HST 124gr 9mm P9HST1 (LE Packaging)
Federal HST 124gr +P 9mm P9HST3 (LE Packaging)

Shot 100rds of Blazer brass, 115gr, 9mm, part #5200 thru my p10s.

Sig 9MM, 124GR, Elite V-Crown, JHP . Never a problem in my P10c.

I just shot 150 rounds of Federal HST 147 grain with no issues through my CZ 75 Compact. Its our duty ammo. Waiting for the 500 round mark, making sure it functions reliably, before CCW. Ball ammo I have not had any issues with these manufacturers, Federal, Winchester, Remington, MagTech, & PMC in these weights, 147gr, 124gr, and 115gr.
