*Unrelated, but was also surprised to see that FAB has apparently made/is offering MLok polymer handguards when recently browsing Optics Planet...  Not currently in stock, but hopefully coming soon.  Shows to be offering standard FAB black, tan, green.

Uncertain how functional the upper ones are.

What's the quality of the FAB products? Thinking about utilizing their grip and maybe this new Handguard too. I'm not trying to go for a "tactical" setup. But the standard polymer furniture on the model I ordered does not appeal to me. I was thinking about using the original beaver barf up front, fab grip and paratrooper folding stock. But I am leaning towards these fab Handguard if their quality is anything like magpul.

Perhaps slightly less robust than Magpul.  Not aware of any reports on the new HG.  Note that the tan is desert tan and green is camo green, not odg.  Keep an eye on your 922r -- these are foreign-made parts.

With your factory gun, you might want to get a stripped upper handguard from Apex with the retaining tabs already snapped off -- they're easy to snap and required to be bent in order to twist on the upper handguard. 

Ronin's grips sells US-made options w/o storage compartments of fab and definitely more slipperly.  I added a hogue grip sleeve to my Ronin.
