Title: Mounting 507K with-out milling
Post by: kabong57 on March 23, 2021, 08:34:33 AM
Thinking of mounting a 507K on a P-01 Omega.   First Red Dot so would like some range time before comitting to milling. The Leupold  aluminum dovetail mounts are available but the CZC steel plates are out of stock. Any one tried both ?  With the light weight of the 507K it may not matter. Really not concerned about co-witness at this stage.

here is a pretty good option

do not have it on my CZ but do on a different brand with the a 507c, perfect fit and works great.

The only problem with that particular mount, if you plan a 407/507k, are the rear lugs.  That red dot does not have any indents in the red dot to facilitate the rear lugs.  The lugs could be filed/sanded smooth and then it would work great.

Kabong,
I've had several aluminum dovetail mount plates on my P-09/P-07/97B"E"/75B pistols.  Mine are Springer Precision for the Burris FF 3.  I also have two 507C red dots and one 507K on my optics ready P-10 pistols.  The K and C sights are definitely different.  Check with Springer Precision and EGW and see if they are making something now for the 507K in the 75B dovetail dimensions.  Sure, aluminum is weaker in the threads, but mine have been fine for 7 or 8 years and some pretty heavy use.

  Mods, please move if this is in the wrong place;
While we are talking mounts,  any advice on one for a Ruger Mark IV Hunter ? The receiver is drilled and tapped from the factory.

What did you end up going with? How's it working out? Curious which mount you picked up, if you have a link that'd be great. I have an SP01 but trying to see if manufactures have an option for that. Cheers mate.

Purchased this mount;

 for my P-01 and 507K-x2 but have not installed it yet. Received my SP-01 Tactical Decocker from CGW with the slide milled for a SRO.  Still admiring their Craftsmanship and haven't mounted it yet either.

Weird that replied to my email today saying they don't have a mount for the 407k, which is the same footprint as the 507k. I'm curious to see how this works out for you mate as that multi optic dovetail looks like it'll fit.

Idont know if this will show

My understanding is the 407/507K is a modified Shield foot print. The K does not use the rear pins ( C )  and the front pins  ( V ) need to be shorter.

Can we see a pic please? I just bought a 507k and am considering mounting it to my PCR with the CZC multi mount.

How did you configure the mount? Did you have any issues zeroing the optic and did you need to shin it etc.

The only cumbersome thing was having to file down two of the provided metal nubs with the universal mount to get it to sit well enough to fit into the two front recessed circles in the holosun. Used needle nose pliers and 300 grit sandpaper. A metal file would work better perhaps?

I used a sight Pusher with a little adjustment to push the wider universal dovetail plate into the dovetail cut in the sight. The thicker screws provided by holosun fit into the third set of screw holes from the rear of the plate. The screws are a little long and can you use a little filing as well if you don't want to scratch the top of your slide when fully screwing them in.

No issues with zero so far a few clicks and I was dialed in with a sight bore. Dialed it in a little more at the range at 15 yards and a shot wonderfully for 100 rounds. The real test is going back in 2 weeks to see if zero is still held. Give me your email and I will send you a picture.

I'm debating on getting the cz custom multi dot plate but not sure how flush it fits. Does it hang over the side edge of the gun where the serrations are? thanks

Yes it definitely overhangs where I only rack (if need be) from the front serrations. About 1/4 inch at most which, though you can still grip the rear serrations, it definitely hinders the grip in a situation where you need to quickly rack it. To be honest I have enough training with it now to consider selling the dovetail and getting it milled. Ill consider selling it if you're interested. Email me hey.songalong@gmail.com if interested.
