Atlantic Firearms now had the CZ 83 in 7.65mm. The pictures show the markings stating "Made in Czechoslovakia." I like the ones made in the former country for historical purposes. these pistols are available for $545. I ordered one but I have never done business with AF before so I hope I made the right decision. PS They also have the CZ 82 for about $100 fewer 8).

Nice, please let us know how the condition is and post photos!

Will provide feedback on the pistol. The firearm has shipped and I await a call from my FFL.

The pictures for the CZ83 look better than the CZ82. I will have to wait until mine shows up. In pictures of both guns the barrels look clean without any wear marks.
-
Any luck? Hope it turned out well.

Good news and bad news regarding my CZ 83 pistol. Unfortunately there were some issues with the firearm when I examined it at the FFL. The takedown lever required an excessive amount of force to operate and the mag release would only operate from one side. I refused the gun and Atlantic Firearms was fantastic in getting me a full refund. I thanked them greatly. I sent them an e-mail at 9:30 PM one evening and by 8:22 AM the next day I had instructions and an FedEx shipping label to give to my FFL.
Atlantic firearms did right by me, they are great company and I will do business with them again

Thanks for the report. Sorry to hear about the gun though. Are you going to try another one from them? Is there a way to gauge the condition beforehand, or is it just rolling the dice on condition?
-
I will wait for another time. They do provide pictures and a grading.

Atlantic has always had a great customer service reputation locally. That's where you know if the reputation is "smoke and mirrors" or the real thing. In this case, it's real IMO.

I strongly agree. Atlantic Firearms did "Right" by me. I was told they had a great reputation and AF lived up to this reputation. I will do business with them again.

New member here. I just received my CZ 83 .32 ACP from Atlantic last week. It was in very nice condition. Everything worked. A bit dusty. Some “honest wear” from handling, carry and some shooting. Bore was pristine.
Mine dates to 1991. Has a nice “Made in Czechoslovakia” stamp. Round trigger guard.
But only 1 magazine. I can’t seem to find magazines anywhere. I’d like to have two or three extras on hand. Any suggestions?

I am glad yours was better than mine. Great find. The only place I saw magazines available were Gunbroker and they were expensive. I am glad I bought them while still available from CZ USA. Let us know how the pistol shoots. 8)

My CZ83 in .380 also has similar issues with the effort required to pull the trigger guard down and ejecting the magazine.
I even bought some of the parts to replace the mag release and it is very finicky still after replacement.

Did the difficult trigger guard ever affect functioning? Any idea why it is hard to pull down.

Keep an eye on Armslist. I recently sold several NIB CZ 83 .32 ACP mags on it.

My last CZ 83 .32acp that was in almost unissued condition, with a very tight slide, also had a stiff trigger guard pull down, but it had no adverse issues on the functioning of the gun. It was sweet and the new owner loves it.

No...functioning was good...accurate.
My CZ82 trigger guard comes down with little effort compared to my CZ83.

It’s more like “pull toward the muzzle and down” action than just “down” when I take it apart. From memory (caution), I think there’s a tab on the top of the guard that needs to clear an opening on the frame before it’s pulled down. There’s a CZ-USA video that specifically says to do that so make sure you’re doing that instead of just pulling the guard down.

I am also looking for CZ 83 mags for my pistol chambered in .32 ACP but no luck.
-
Mags for the CZ 82 and 83 are interchangeable. They are pretty scarce, but sightings do occur. Keep watch here and the usual reputable surplus retailers.
